No sign of my cheque

Last week Monday? Or this Monday just gone?

@Badbudgie

Monday just gone

There’s nothing to worry about.

Monzo have your cheque and if it’s got lost from security guard to your account, then you can request a replacement from the insurance company.

You won’t be out of pocket.

If they have lost it, you can raise an official complaint and you’ll get some compensation.

@Badbudgie oh no  That’s made me worried even more… I sent mine special delivery last Monday

@Revels why has his ^ been done and he only sent it on this Monday gone and I sent mine last Monday?

Don’t know why that is mate :slightly_frowning_face:

Higher value might have something to do with it? Or they’ve lost it.

@Badbudgie how much was your cheque if you don’t mind me asking? Mine is 15,000

400 might be because of the amount of yours

Possibly but it’s taken over a week now and they just keep telling me different things… most likely lost it :sob:

The worst outcome is it’s lost. It can soon be replaced by the issuing company so no worries there.

Although I feel for the OP this thread perfectly sums up why I would never post a cheque for any amount to Monzo it’s just a risk that you don’t have to take.

Why I have starling for under £500, anything over that and I would use my high street bank even the ATMS accept cheques so can cash in anytime.

I hope the issue gets sorted soon OP and good luck

On the basis that it might be lost, I’d advise opening an account at a convenient bank which offers an over the counter service, or has an ATM which accepts deposits. Do it now, so that when the replacement cheque arrives, you can deposit it straight away.

Actually fuming right now… this is the response I got

“ We have just had an update on this. We’ve searched for the cheque but are unable to locate the it. Do you have a photo of the front of the cheque? We’ll then be able to search for this in our systems.
If not, if you speak to your solicitor and request an electronic transfer they should be able to facilitate this.”

Do you have a photo?

@Anarchist Yes I have, they still can’t locate it. I sent it special delivery for a reason!

I’d do as they suggest. Get back to your solicitor, explain that the bank has lost the cheque, and either arrange a new cheque, or bank transfer. If the solicitor makes any charge for this, raise a complaint with Monzo. From what you’ve said, they should (in my opinion) reimburse you any extra payment, and the £6 you paid to ensure the first cheque got there, and add on some extra for all of your trouble.

If your solicitor insists on another cheque, don’t send it to Monzo!

So who the heck signed for it?

I’d be annoyed too.
