New plus card came! But already opened 😫

I was just trying to figure out what side of the channel the damage was identified at. Judging by what other people have said it looks like im the only one that has a responsible postman that cares enough to use the stickers!

For the sake of balance, mine was fully sealed.

POLL: How did your Monzo Plus card arrive?

Something like Senokot should work well.

Mine was open fully as well. Last year they had a problem with card printing and now this years problem is with the envelope

I haven’t received it… ordered in first hour

Likewise… envelope was open but card seemed secured within holder.

same with mine it seems a packaging issue tbh.

Mine arrived partially torn - agree that it’s more likely a packaging issue rather than anything nefarious.

Looks like mine arrived slightly open as well. Fortunately it’s not all the way so I don’t have to request a new one for the fear of it being tampered with!

Yes, it arrived as in the photo

I agree, but if you share a common entrance with a number of other flats, and the mail is simply piled up there, anyone could already have opened the envelope and taken down the details with the intention of using them in future once you’ve activated your card.

I agree - I’ve ordered a replacement.

Surely if it’s only partially opened the card can’t possibly be tampered with? I’d only request a new one if it was possible to get the card out of the envelope as it came? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

That perforated strip looks proper flimsy for an envolope that contains a bank card. What is wrong with a good old-fashioned adhesive flap?

Personally I like the strip provided it stays sealed. Someone could probably open and reseal the adhesive more easily on a traditional envelope than they can with the perforation.

my card came today and the seal was partially open but not enough to take a copy of the card details

Mine arrived today and was fully open, I’ve reported it yo monzo and am guessing they will issue a new card.

If its a packaging problem, how many times are people gonna order replacement cards before they realise that the replacement will likely be in the same type of envelope?

Also, you bank with Monzo, does the push notifications, in app verification for online purchases, and freeze facility not mean you are gonna find out pretty damn quick if anyone tries to use your details.

Unless it happens at 3am when I’m asleep

Agree it is very, very unlikely that anyone would have seen my card details but COps straight away said they were ordering a new card

Ultimately even if you find out pretty quickly and just one transaction goes through it’s likely cheaper to send out a new card than have to go through a fraud investigation and refund that transaction.
