I’m another Belroy card sleeve owner, I love it.

Halifax Clarity Credit
Barclaycard Freedom Rewards Credit

University ID Card
Hoping to add Monzo to this soon… on the waitlist…
Curve is also based on GPS which lately has been very unreliable…
Ayy, good to find someone else at uni using Monzo
I found curve so pointless I ended up carrying all the other cards anyway. It sits in a drawer now.
Good luck when you want to claim Section 75 cover.
I’ve actually found a use for it - giving it out to family members as an emergency card, 'cos I can switch it off until it’s needed!
Will probably give a few people fits but I carry around 25 cards (took a while to get the number right).
x2 Monzo, Starling, Curve, Santander, x2 Singapore credit card, identity card, BRP, Railcard, 9 loyalty cards, stagecoach bus pass, 2 uni cards, NUS extra card, 2 random cafe name cards I never seem to take out.
Everything gets chucked into a massive pouch that is just all one pocket, coins, notes, a small pen, lip balm. It takes ages finding anything
Imagine the task of replacing it all if you lost it!
Given how absent-minded I am I seem to be doing a great job so far. I think only the BRP would be a massive pain to replace.
Am I the one routinely not carrying any physical cards at all.
I thought a lot of people here would be card-less as people here are much more comfortable with technology just a personal thought but of course everyone is different and has their own reasons.
Monzo users who do not have Android Pay have no option but to carry at least one card at the moment.
I’d love to, but there’s a risk. Sometimes there’s no contactless, sometimes there’s contactless but android pay doesn’t work.
Heck, sometimes I need to withdraw actual cash…
I’ve used Apple Pay 2 or 3 times in total. I’d never rely on it at this point and anyway, I much prefer the cards.
Some Santander ATMs are contactless. I wonder if Apple/Android Pay would work on them?
I guess there is a risk but I have been using Apple and Android Pay since their launch in the UK and actually don’t remember if I ever had an issue. I am not saying going card-less can work for everyone but in London it’s really not an issue
Sorry you don’t have to answer, just out of curiosity why would you not reply on Apple pay? IMO Apple/Android Pay are safer technologies than a normal contactless card.
Some Santander ATMs are indeed NFC enabled but only with a physical card.
Oh Barclays also have some contactless cash machines they do work with phone NFC. However only with Android, because Barclays Android App has its own contactless payment system, they don’t relay on Android Pay.
Purely lack of use. I haven’t played with it often enough to trust it.
On the odd occasion I have it’s pretty cool but I’ll generally always have a card on me and that’s where I turn first. It’s smaller and thinner. That all may change, of course once my new main account gets on there.
(The first time I used Apple Pay, it didn’t help that I thought I needed to keep my finger on the sensor at the same time as I was using the phone to pay. Unfortunately I kept pressing the button… That was a couple of years ago now though. )
The local asda failed to work with Android pay just this morning… shortly followed by a helpful member of staff saying not to bother as it’s not supported. I’m sure it’s just a dodgy till, but if I hadn’t had my card I wouldn’t have been able to pay.
Also quite a lot of shops don’t do contactless around here, especially the smaller ones (typically the ones with £10 minimum spend on debit cards).
Another one I thought of - you go into a pub, how are you going to leave your card behind the bar? I’m not sure I’d want to be without my phone for an entire evening…
Interesting, I had the same issue yesterday. It has previously worked for me there too
Sadly not, I have tried. (With Android Pay)
