What's the first video game you ever played?

Must have been either Crystal Caves or Chips Challenge :joy: (old PC games). Both amazing!!

That is so not the Chip’s Challenge I recognise. I played it on the Atari ST and the graphics were very different, I think maybe because the ports were done by different people (it was originally a Lynx game). I don’t know if I ever actually completed it, I think I hit a wall at some point, but this was - christ, 30 years ago now :grimacing:

Haha nothing like the first pic? (2nd pic is Crystal Caves). Must have been about 20-25 years ago I was placing it on the PC, but I’m pretty sure it was much older than that. I played it on Windows 3.1.

As it happens, I managed to find a version of the first pic I do recognise:

Dogz on Windows 95.

Great thread! Not 100% sure but first family computer was an Amiga 500 so would have been either Chuck Rock or Flimbos Quest (or maybe James Pond).

Be surprised if more than a handful of people remember those classics

No, I’m with you in your Binatone Tennis club.

Sometime circa 1976, my parents bought me Binatone Tennis. Our telly was crap and I soon got bored withTV ping pong and returned to playing outside. I don’t think I touched another form of video game until Time Crisis came along. I haven’t touched a games console now for about 20 years.

My sister may remember better but I’m sure mine was a GameCube game. Probably a Pokemon game.

Yikes, it would have been a game for my Sinclair Spectrum +2. Possibly Turbo Outrun, or Monty On The Run…

Something on the Spectrum. Possibly Hungry Horace or Manic Miner or Spectipede
