That brings back memories. When I was younger and I’d visit my dad in his office, Shufflepuck Cafe was the only game I could play on his computer there. I hated the dearth of usable Mac software back then
Yeah it wasn’t the best. Went from BBC Microcomputer to Apple Mac II. I have a vague memory of a WW2 fighter style game (Red Baron?) that we actually had a joystick for too… that and hand typing lines of code, copied from computer magazines, to create minesweeper style games. The joys of BASIC.
I remembered my first game!
It was a German version of Putt-Putt !
Sonic the Hedgehog on a friends Sega Mega Drive, back in year 1 at School.
I can still remember the level select cheat code too! On the title screen press up, down, left, right, hold down a and press start.
My favourite cheat code is a toss-up between:
MOTHERFCKENKIWIBSTARD (bowdlerised for the forum)
idspispopd (and idkfa)
If you’ve ever played these games you’ll know them.
Alex The Kidd on the Mastersystem! It came bundled with the console. HOURS, we’d spent on that wee guy haha. Games have come a long way in thirty years.
Yep played Chuckie Egg on the Acorn Electron
