Old Mercedes (named Janis) was returned to the dealer a few weeks ago, to be replaced by Bobby the new Mercedes. Because Bobby is metallic Denim Blue. So the first song to be played on the embedded Tidal app in the new car had to be Janis Joplin’s cover of “Me and Bobby McGee” - a version which IMHO is proof that a cover can be better than the original version. The albums “Pearl” and “I Got Dem Ol’ Kozmic Blues Again Mama!” are both awesome.

Might have posted this before but there’s a guy who somehow has gained access to original MJ multitracks and makes his own extended mixes. They are absolutely sublime.
His mix of “Human Nature” just shuffled on YouTube and it’s stunning.

Recorded a few weeks before Grace was released to the world. His guitar playing is phenomenal and his voice is otherworldly. He’s my Elvis.

I spent yesterday revisiting the Gene back catalogue.
Having a return to my youth day…so listened to Pocket Full of Kryptonite by Spin Doctors and rememberd hoqw many great tracks were on it! Gave Bridge of Spies by T’Pau a go…lasted 2 songs…awful!! Now got No Jacket Required by Phil Collins playing in the office…I am guessing its rose tinted memories kicking up, but really enjoying it!
