What music are you listening to at the moment?

Tracks 2-6 so far, but I need a few more listens before any favourites stick out.

Looks like I wasn’t the only person buying the new Slipknot album:

You Oughta Know is a great song. The rest of the album is rather forgettable (which is to say, I’ve forgotten it )

That song used to make me so angry when I was younger. Now I just simmer quietly  Oh. Granted, maybe posting this reply isn’t so quiet :speak_no_evil:

I don’t think I was ever the target audience for not-“You Oughta Know”-Alanis (which is to say, I never liked that one either). Terrible of me, I know.

If you want to be sure you’ve woken the kids, then - going back a bit - there’s always Slipknot. Surfacing would probably do it

They’re used to me blasting out Rammstein

I was planning to listen to Slipknot tonight but i’m trying to redo my CV and think that album deserves my complete attention.

Anything as good as Wait and Bleed on it?

Aw heck yeah. There’s the aforementioned Surfacing, to start, but many others beside. Spit It Out, of course, but then you’ve also got Eyeless, Liberate, and No Life, to name but three. Also Scissors.
Granted, as someone who has been listening to Slipknot since that first album, I’m not totally unbiased. But that at least doesn’t change the basic fact that it’s a great album

In conclusion, though - I have always thought, and still think, that Surfacing is the best song on the album. It is perhaps the quintessential Slipknot song, in many ways.

If i disagree I shall forever shun you :metal:

One of my favorite records. I’ve bought it multiple times over the years, including most recently this version. Saw her live a few years back too and it was a great show!

The new Sum 41 album is surprisingly good.

Listening now. It reminds me of early Linkin Park
