Even if I knew the exact numbers, I would get into major trouble if I disclosed it here…
Maybe… But a lot of it probably not.
Automation isn’t for everyone (hence why less than 2% of our users are on it).
Day-to-day customers might create an automation accidentally, or maybe forget about it and realise its moving money all over the place, write an infinite loop…
The app could cover some mainstream functionality, but probably not to the level and flexibility we allow at IFTTT
I was thinking the simple stuff like penny challenges etc.
When I was helping out over on the Facebook page, lots of Monzo users wanted to use the feature but didn’t feel comfortable passing data to IFTTT (no matter how many times I explained IFTTT as levers!).
Just a thought, but as it costs and realistically, from what I’ve seen at least, only the basic features are widely used, I wondered if it was an option.
You are right. And the saving challenges are by far our most popular applets.
It would be nice to have, but right now we have got bigger fish to fry: Helping Monzo become profitable!
If the balance is below x, then move money from pots or saving pots
Cuts costs long term that will help.
I think some of these use cases could be covered by including account balance as an ingredient in the triggers if possible. Would also be nice to see a budget remaining and/or budget % remaining Ingredient.
Was not aware of that. Thank you.
REQUEST: IFTTT Action for adding notes and tags.
I use notes and tags to filter and search like many here. Some of my payments are recurring and therefore I add the same notes or tags every time they happen.
I would find it useful if I could have an IFTTT action which would add a pre-defined set of notes and tags to any receipt from a specific vendor.
i.e. IF Any card purchase at a merchant THEN add notes/tags to the transaction
Interesting I always expected IFTTT enhancements (besides joint accounts support) to be a monzo plus feature. Especially since it’s more of a power user feature and you have costs associated with it.
That’s true. If we didn’t already have IFTTT integration it would make the perfect Plus feature.
I could see there being a basic IFTTT offer (limited triggers) on free account with separate more advanced options for the plus offering.
But who knows
Not sure IFTTT provides that mechanism
I can tell you there are no plans to put IFTTT features under the “paid for” wall in the foreseeable future.
But that could change, who knows…
Thinking about it, probably the main thing that I could use would be:
- ‘Pot Balance’ ingredient (associated with pot transfers)
I’d still need to put it in a spreadsheet for later use but the applet would do that so it would probably remove the last bit of manual intervention in my ‘Fuel’ pot management strategy.
Just a little shoutout to you @arthur-ceccotti for being very open and responsive on this thread
Whilst not a feature that is/will be massively impactful to me with the exception of the savings challenges I can only applaud your enthusiasm to involve the community which is a breath of fresh air… keep it up
Hey @arthur-ceccotti
I’ve just received an email from IFTTT announcing their new Embeddable Connections service. They used the below article as a usecase example of how they’ve seamlessly integrated IFTTT services into Quapitals app.
Perhaps this is something Monzo could look at with a view to increasing the number of users who use the service? Improving the flow might help with those who have concerns with using another service as well as those who aren’t very tech savvy
Or for someone like me who uses IFTTT a lot, managing my applets (such as savings challenges) within the Monzo app would be awesome
Funny you say that. I have a meeting with IFTTT next week about this.
That’s so exciting! Can I conference call in just to listen?
Thanks so much for picking this up. Great to know that you’re still willing to handle the advances cases, too. Looking forward to using these features when they arrive!
