We’re arguing the same point then. The app isn’t refreshing when it should and users are resorting to workarounds to force a refresh (whether that’s switching between screens or forcing an app close).
I don’t know what the app memory overheads will be etc. but it seems like there needs to be a forced refresh when switching between the View All and Home screens.
I’ve not gone as far as having the app open whilst making a payment to see if that feed item appears.
Like you said, my point was that workarounds shouldn’t need to be built - they should just fix whatever is causing transfers to not appear instantly.
I’ve just done a test on my phone and it appeared straight away. I’m sure the device and many other factors have a lot to do with this as well but I’m on Android? Is it IOS people reporting this or a mix?
What’s probably worse than the transactions not refreshing, is when the transactions do all show up, the balance doesn’t get updated (sometimes).
So you are left with a complete transaction list, but an incorrect balance total, and for people who don’t necessarily keep a sharp eye on their running total list, this can be a real pain if you think you’ve got more money than you actually have…
I think I have also had it the other way - where the total balance has changed but the transactions haven’t but I know there are further transaction to be shown - I therefore don’t know if I can fully trust the balance!
To be honest this should have been the first priority.
Any time you open the home feed it should do a refresh as the first thing when loading. Who wants to see out of date data?
I had put down the performance issues to being on the new layout. I’ve never really had to force close and open the app before moving to the new layout to fix issues but now do it at least 2/3 times a day.
I hope the new developments take weeks rather than months, all for being on beta and helping form this new integral part of the app so will persevere for now.
One thing I have just noticed is that I did not get a notification when the withdrawel from an ISA pot landed in the account. It showed as greyed out yesterday and this morning (as expected) but has now credited the account but no notification.

I’ve found that the best way to ensure your feed is up to date is to tap on ‘Payments’ then tap to go back to ‘Home’. At least on the current iteration of the new UI.
This is interesting. I’d personally like this to happen as well. My main concern would be that not everyone care/know about committed spending. And showing a Spent Today figure that doesn’t match actual money leaving your account that day can be dangerous.
One thing that could solve the same problem is if your committed spending transactions were not part of the same Feed, ie: committed spending pot, or direct debits out of pots, etc etc.
Good point. But does the transaction notification not alert the user to this? I can see why @jwhiterz doesnt want the figure included. On the 1st day of the month I could go and buy a 4 pack whispa for £1 but get told my spend today was £1501 which it isnt.
I got a new notification in the about savings accounts and when pressing it it takes me to the page where you create a regular pot, not the menu of pots before that.
