Only just realised Amex app design is slightly similar in terms of the card peeking above a collapsible feed. I’ve always liked how Amex have designed the app.
Legend.
This prompted me to try signing using my work iPad (I normally just stick to my android phone) once I checked the View All screen on the iPad I could see my pots. Went back to my phone (android) and tapped on View All and all is well again!
Not sure what the cause was but at least it’s back to normal.
Good to hear! Sounds like there was a server side issue here, which cleared when you accessed your account from another device.
Anyway - all hunky dory now
(I really hate those unknown irritating bugs…)
Thanks for persevering though, I really appreciate it. I owe you a pint.
Motorbike fund
Yep! Tax, insurance, servicing and MOT all in the same month so having a pot set up for it all definitely helps.
Do you have one? A bike that is.
Ohh thought you were saving up for one! Yep I’ve got a Kawasaki ER-6F. Got my full licence just over a year ago.
How about you?
Very strange but glad it is fixed. Hopefully doesn’t affect anyone else but at least we know how to fix it now
Nice bike. Mine is a Suzuki Intruder M800, she’s called Monica
That’s such a cool bike. I’ll be after a bigger bike soon but it’s so hard to choose a style when you like them all
I’ll have to get thinking of a name for mine too
(Not sure if should go in here or a thread on its own but…)
Is anyone else experiencing slow update times? Takes a good minute or so to update transactions (when I haven’t been in the app for some time equating to a few transactions over the course of a few hours)
iOS 12.3.1
Testflight v 2.50.0
It’s incredibly slow, and sometimes doesn’t update at all (with other times, it updates the transactions but not the balance, leaving an incorrect figure).
If you swap tabs, or close the app completely and re open it usually fixes itself.
Bit disappointed this issue has taken so long to fix - I signed up to the new UI beta because I like to help with stuff like this - But there has been zero noticeable improvement from day 1, and it feels a little pushed to one side right now…
Monzo came on here a little while back to let us know that they’re not going to update the UI until they have made more underlying changes to the way you navigate between account and pots… I’ll see if I can find it.
Edit:
Not helping for me unfortunately I just have to sit and wait!
Sadly have to agree - I joined on day one because I wanted to help with what was going on and was under the impression things would be chopping and changing with some regularity (hence all of the warnings about moving onto it in the first place).
Whilst I appreciate all the hard work @bruno and the team are doing - it has been a while like you say. Only noticeable thing apart from overall UI changes was fixing the pots issue - however we now have another lag/ update time issue which is sad
It’s not so much the UI I’d like to see updated, but the performance of the app is absolutely terrible (and I’m on a XS Max).
I was so happy to see Monzo make a huge deal of “completely re-writing the app” not to long ago, to cope with the future pressures of servicing more people.
We were told that it wouldn’t grind to a halt again, but literally a few months later we are back in the horrible app experience again…
Ah, I get you.
I’ve not noticed any app performance issues on my phone (Android), but I have noticed that I need to manually refresh the app (by switching from my transaction feed to “Payments” then back again).
Some way to refresh the feed would be nice. In the past I’d just pull the feed down, but obviously that just reveals the card now.
Yes this is needed. I do the same as you to refresh but it feels like you need something on the home screen.
Personally I don’t see the need for ‘pull down to refresh’ function when everything is instant.
If the app really is slow then the root cause needs to be addressed, not add more code into the mix.
But it isn’t.
If I add £1 to a pot, it doesn’t appear in my feed unless I force an app/feed refresh. Pulling down to refresh is a well recognised UX of mobile apps.
It should do and used to, which is why I said this
