Unable to login after being approved

Hi, I’ve just been approved an account but am struggling to sign in. Approval seem to take a while but I had an email to say sorry for wait and approved. However…

When trying to sign onto app, after entering phone number it says no account exists. So I then say create account and after then entering phone number it states that an account already exists…

Anyway out of this loop? Have been emailing monzo but very slow and no one seems to know why.

Because you’re entering your phone number not your email address.

Check your spam folder.

When you open the app, at the bottom of the screen (I think) it should say already a customer/login.

Which it then asks you for your email address, they send you a magic link by email to click and login.

**If you already have an account with Monzo and you’re trying to login, and you are asked to enter your phone number, this always means you have entered the wrong email address. Always.

Try the steps in the 4th section of this post:

Usually, you’ll get the welcome screen where you can select ‘I already have an account’:


You then enter the same, correct, email address you used to initially sign up and get a Magic Link emailed to that email address to tap on to get access to the app.

So this is the thing. I’m unsure of the status since being approved.

If I try to login it says no account with this phone number.

If I try to create account it states phone number already exists.

Both ways I get the magic link to my email which works and sms message to number. It’s as if I’m half registered.

The email that Monzo sends should look like this:

There’s only one thing to tap on. Once you do that, it’ll open the Monzo app to the Welcome screen which looks like what I posted earlier :point_up:

Just to confirm - you are using the email client on the same phone as you’re trying to access the monzo app from?

Yup get that and after clicking on it it takes me to the monzo app screen like this, not straight into the app

Then you may be in some sort of approval loop.

Can you login to your Monzo ‘emergency’ account access using a browser?: web.monzo.com -enter the same email address you signed up with.

Also, have you applied in the past and used the same phone number?

Any chance you’re using a different email address to the one you would have signed up with? For example if you use Gmail, @gmail and @googlemail might be the same email mailbox physically, but only one will match what Monzo has registered. Just a thought.

Seemed to be a problem on the monzo end. They did some magic and all was ok. Thanks for everyone’s help.
