How long do faster payments take?! Sent £5 from Monzo yesterday afternoon and arrived instantly, sent £2.50 back to Monzo and I’m still waiting for it to arrive…

Speak to Coop as they are likely holding the payment.

If you log into online banking via the web there is a part under payments where you can see the status of the faster payment if that helps

Ok… maybe I’ll wait until I also have to call them to activate my debit card (which hasn’t arrived yet)

Yikes.

As much as my sticker on my card said the same about calling to activate, I never actually had to as the card worked straight away so might be the same in your case.

The maximum time allowed is by the end of the next business day.

They’re slow but generally in a few minutes to an existing payee.

It just arrived, so about 18 hours from initial sending.

Co-op bank is an absolute shower of bollocks. If it wasn’t for the currently decent regular saver I’d never go near them. I’ve switched out once before and had no dealings with them, reapplied as a new customer for a Cashminder a year or two later, got my card and paperwork, created login details but then found they had hyper-fudged my customer profile into limbo which took a painfully long phonecall with a flustered and confused CS guy to fix. I was kind to him but life’s too short to ever phone them again.

Just thought I’d give you all an update ;
The account from the Co-Op which had the £58 being reported on my credit file has now completely disappeared.

On my equifax report on the 15th October it was there - on the 17th October report (The day they agreed to send out the statements to me) it’s completely disappeared

Has Co-Op realized their mistake?

I knew it was going to be slow but it’s surpassed my expectations:

Account opened 14/10
Switch requested via the PDF form 15/10
Regular saver opened 15/10 (might as well make use of that)
[crickets]
PIN received 20/10
Text received today telling me switch would happen on 29/10
Still no card as of today…

I’m tempted to try myself and see how long it would take.

I’m going to sign up for a PBA toward the end of next week, might as well take advantage of this 3 month free offer and get FlexPlus binned off before the price hike. Also still need their regular saver.

Will report back with timescales. My expectations are set at very long, very slow and an account which will be basically unusable for day-to-day banking.

False alarm ; the account has reappeared on my file again this morning.
Still awaiting the bank statement however

Sorry for the double post but I have a further update to this to add.
I was catching up with my mum today and she mentioned I had a letter from the co-op bank delivered. It was them sending a letter confirming my complaint was closed as resolved. They also apologised for an oversight in correspondence being sent… although they sent this letter to my previous address (luckily it’s the family home and I still got the letter).

But still, sending an letter confirming a complaint closure to the wrong address is something!

Ngl.

Absolute shit show.

I’ve already forgotten what that’s supposed to mean, and every time I see it I wonder who Nigel is.
