Pay early feature - when it notify you?

Hi,

I know that we get paid a day early at 4pm the day before if getting paid by BACS, but what time does the payment notification usually pop up in the app to tell you? Is it one the day the payment is due at 4pm or before ? Thanks

It’ll nudge you just after 4 to say your money is waiting on the working day before it’s officially due to be paid.

Sorry I meant when does it usually pop up with the notification to say “check back here at 4pm”
Is that the day before or on the day of at around 9am?

It can vary. For me it’s usually about 9am on the day I can claim it.

I’ve always found between 11Pm the night before I can claim it early up to 12pm on the day. It depends on weekends as well.

Ah you mean show in your feed? Mine was always just after midnight on the day I can pull it.

Towards the end of the month it shows in my feed at around 1800 the day before but at the beginning of the month it can show after midnight. The latest I’ve had a notification is around 0045. Make of that as you will.:grin:

How and when we send notifications also depends on how big of a paid early day it is!

No numbers of people getting paid that day, high numbers create a big load on the servers

It’s my first salary payment into my Monzo account. Opened it just over a week ago. Keeping fingers crossed it’ll be in by 4pm. Official paydays tomorrow.

If you don’t see it yet, you’re unlikely to see it by 4PM.

You’d only be able to claim at 4pm if you’re paid by bacs. If it’s not showing at the top of your transaction feed by now, you may be paid by faster payments instead which doesn’t give the option for paid early as Monzo don’t know it’s coming.

I double checked, my employer by bacs. When you say you should be able to see it at the top of the feed, do you mean the amount, and who it’s coming from?, because those information aren’t showing. It just has a timer showing, saying somethings coming in tomorrow.

I got my payslip early. My contract states the employer pays via bacs. But on the payslip payment method is stated as Bank Transfer, is this the same thing?:man_shrugging:t6:

No - chances are, it’s not BACS as you’re not seeing the payment already. So you’ll have to wait for your payday to get the pay.

I’m not sure if the error is on my side. All I’ve done is give my Monzo account details to my employer. Do I still have to do anything else?, like adding salary payment in the app?

My employer recently changed their payroll provider and has gone from BACS to Faster Payments. This means it used to appear as a pending item (ie greyed out at the top of the feed) from the day before payday, and I could use ‘get paid early’ from 4pm; now it just drops in at a random time on payday and I can’t use the ‘get paid early’ feature.

If you have your payslip then that’s a good sign - the only thing that could stop you getting your money is in the unlikely event of you having given your employer the wrong bank details, or them transcribing them incorrectly into their payroll system. If you’re worried about it not getting to you, you’re best speaking to your payroll department - but the chances are that everything’s fine and your money should be with you shortly!
