Instead of speculating and worrying the OP unnecessarily, perhaps we should just stick to the facts. And as Monzo are dealing with the OPs complaint, I’m not sure there are many facts we can add anyway
That’s where the random 15 grand came from yesterday
I don’t think it has happened, that would be pretty unlikely. Just clarifying what I think he was meaning.
Did you get the money?
Sorry mate did you get your money, I am in the same situation now
Have you read the entire discussion? It’s highly unlikely that the same series of events occurred for you with your £15k cheque.
Explain what you’ve done, when you did it and the communication you’ve recieved. Then we can advise.
Hello, my cheque is not £15k is £6400 but still from my insurance company for the car because been written off. I’ve sent the cheque last Monday, and been received by Monzo on Tuesday 7:21 AM and security signed for it. Since then nothing happened tried to contact them and same answers all the time that monzo has a back log on cheques but they don’t know if they have the cheque or not!!!
and yes mate i read the entire discussion, that is why I asked this question!
Once they’ve processed it they’ll know they have it. You sent it on Monday 12th? They haven’t had 4 working days yet
I’ve sent it on the 12/04 and security signed for it on the 13/04 7:21 AM.
So that’s 3 working days, they still need another one yet before it breaches the 4 working days.
4 days for processing after they have the cheque, that’s mean they received it on the 13th april so on the 14th they supposed to send the notification that they are starting to process it and from there are 4-6 days for the money to be in the account. Or am I wrong?
My friend, the cheque been received by Monzo on the 13th of April, next day! I didn’t sent it free post i sent it special delivery and sign for it! those 7 working days are for the free post as far as I know!
Building security does not equal Monzo.
Is not the same thing? I am not trying to being rude, I am just little bit stressed!
I am not arguing, I am just asking because I really don’t know how it works! Because for me it sounds little bit different, so I am sorry if it looks like I am arguing.
Thank you, really appreciate your help, but as I said I am not arguing.
Hi, after going back and forth, they lost my £15,000 which really stressed me out, it had security had signed for it… anyway Monzo admitted they had lost it so instead of requesting a new cheque from my solicitor I asked for the money to be transferred to me as I didn’t feel safe sending yet another cheque to monzo only for them to lose it
Begs the question of why they didn’t just do this in the first place. Surely it’s far more cost effective and efficient for them to do transfers instead cheques.
Not to mention a lot better for you as the customer because you get your money way sooner instead of waiting for a cheque to be produced, signed and sent to you in snail mail. Even more so when it’s such a large amount.
Remember, it’s a pandemic.
Received at the office doesn’t necessarily mean arrived with the member of staff tasked with processing.
Has anybody at Monzo discussed openly on here how they’re processing cheques now that few (if any) members of staff are at the office?
People always kick off when it’s suggested because I guess finding a working solution is different in their eyes to Monzo just doing better and providing an easy solution, but you really should consider using another bank with cheque imaging in the future.
