Sorry to Hijack a closed thread, but I downgraded my iOS from 16.2 to 16.1.2 (yay, apple still signing the 15.6RC, then delay update) anyway, I am not getting the magic link to login to Monzo - I waited 1 hour, re sent the emails multiple times, nothing

From the main thread:

" * Using your phone’s email client to access your email - OR - your phone’s browser to access your webmail via browser (using the same email used initially to sign up with Monzo - SEE BELOW**), look for the very latest email from Monzo with a Magic Link and then follow the instructions in that email (it will have a box to tap on). Users have reported that Magic Link emails are not received, usually when using icloud email accounts. This is because the Magic Link emails are interpreted as Junk. Search all icloud email Junk folders using both the mobile device email client AND via browser to find the latest Magic Link email. Please note it will be from ‘…@monzomail.com’ and so it is worth marking this domain as ‘not junk’ (whitelist it)"

Outlook was just being odd. It wasn’t showing in the main feed with all my other emails. But when I searched for Monzo specifically it came up

Yep. Specifically with iCloud, they don’t push every junk email to your device either. It’s their system to try to protect you, so potentially dangerous emails stay in the browser only, and you’ll miss them if you’re not checking regularly as they get purged after a week.

It’s a problem only Monzo can fix and is one they really need to. Their magic emails have known to trigger the threat models of various email service providers, and notably with iCloud to the extent they won’t always push it. Adding Monzo to your contacts or safe senders list won’t override this either. Apple’s system takes precedence and if it doesn’t pass their filters, it won’t check yours.

I generally haven’t noticed it with other companies who auth in the same way, so not sure why it plagues Monzo as frequently as it does.
