New phone advice

Audio is by nature analogue. Analogue is technically superior in respect to audio and always will be when considering audio quality.

Are scratch protectors necessary?
Happy with my new case but annoyingly got some dust underneath my scratch protector and only have one left now

Should I bother or not ?

I’ve never used one and never scratched a screen. Whether they’re necessary or not depends on how careful you are.

Same. Never got a scratch on my SE or my huawei 💁🏽

I can only speak for iPhones but screen protectors don’t seem to be necessary on more recent models. Unless you’re really going to abuse it…

The glass that’s used now is much more scratch resistant than it used to be. I’ve had a 7+ for two years, never been particularly careful with it and there’s not a single scratch. When I bother to clean it properly the phone still looks like new.

I recommend buying the iPhone 12 Max when it comes out, will probably have 5G and a 1TB option.

A screen protector is 4.95£ for a pack of 3 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/MaxTeck-Protector-Tempered-Anti-Shatter-Compatible/dp/B07HGVRNTY/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=maxteck+iPhone+11&qid=1587139766&sr=8-3

I wouldn’t count on these alone to protect against impacts, but they do protect against scratches including tiny ones you can’t see unless you explicitly look for them under the right light angles. Given the low price I suggest you always use them anyway, at least it boosts the resale value of the phone since the screen is always going to be absolutely intact as far as scratches are concerned.

Maybe I’ve just been lucky then - or maybe I’m more careful than I think I am.

I’ve had four iPhones and this is the first one that hasn’t scratched up during its life so I’ve assumed the updated glass was responsible.

Ebuyer are doing the 7 for £222!

Old phone gets cheaper because there’s a new model out.

Is it possible to cast pictures from iPhone to a smart tv

I see a setting for screen mirroring

Depends - you can use airplay if your smart tv supports that.
Otherwise you can do it via an Apple TV

Yes, I freaked my sister out when one of mine started playing on her tv once.

Only got a toshiba smart tv and a LG one too

Should I use a Apple TV box? Think we have a spare one at home

Which LG Smart TV do you have ? If its a 2019 + model it might have AirPlay.

Or yes you can use an Apple TV for airplay and other stuff like apps, or use it in general if you like it’s UI better than the one on the smart TV

2016 unfortunately

I’m trying to get it working on my fire stick

Don’t Want to spend any more than £100

There seems to be ways to cast an iPhone to a Fire TV, but why would you want to if you have an Apple TV? Airplay to an Apple TV is the most fit-for-purpose solution if you have an iPhone.
