New phone advice

Not sure if we have a Apple TV that’s the thing we might have thrown it out

However I’ve found a Flickr app for my fire stick which should do the job

You might want to look at various solutions to mirror your iPhone to your Fire TV. I haven’t tried any myself but a quick Google brings up the following app, which looks promising.

https://www.airbeam.tv/mirror-iphone-ipad-screen/amazon-firetv/

Mirroring the whole device will mean you’re not locked into a particular photos app.

Got bad reviews for privacy concerns mate

I have one I paid £3 for on my fire stick which allows me to see all my Flickr photos but it’s hit and miss . Seems to be working ok now I’ve deleted some apps :+1:t4:

Any idea where to get a 2nd or 3rd gen Apple TV box ? I don’t have eBay so quite a tricky one

Cex?

Ok thanks Dude there’s some good ones on there ! Got a cex voucher and all so may go for that

The Flickr app on me firestick is working fine

Parents might have a spare Apple TV too. If not I’ll get a 3rd gen refurbished

Done some googling and YouTube
I know how to mirror to Apple TV but most tutorials show black bars on the screen it’s mirroring to ?

Found this…

If we have a Apple TV at home I’ll give that a go, if not I’ll buy one from cex

What are the privacy concerns?

People getting lots of threatening junk mail after signing up

I’ll be using a Apple TV box anyways :+1:t4::ok_hand:t4:

Got it all set up on my Apple box

Got a Gen 3 apple tv box and iphone 7

Type in my user and pass, then I get a notification on my phone to click allow which I do, then on the apple TV box it says I need a verification code which i receive on my phone, but theres nowhere to type the code in and then the process starts again ? help

ok its a common fault, and the solution is here… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmvgZ8jD5rY

Google has what you need.

“What if I use two-factor authentication on a device running older software?”

It’s back to £309 on ebuyer now, maybe it was a typo saying it’s £222 ?
iPhone 8 going for £282 here. Dont know whether it’s Legit or not ? Claims to be an Apple reseller, I think it’s dodgy

https://www.computersdeal.co.uk/apple-iphone-8-64gb-silver-2550982.html

Checked the Apple resellers website and surprise suprise they’re not listed

I’ll report it to Apple.shall I contact them on Twitter ?

If they are legit I’m guessing the phones refurbished or fake as RRP for the 8 is £480. Makes no sense it being £280

No reviews for it whatsoever on google or trust pilot

BD8 7HP on the Apple site has no trace of any resellers

Loads of typos all over the site too

Reported, thanks :+1:t4:
Defo dodgy if you read the reviews

Anyone buying the new SE ?

Nope, my iPhone X still works ok for me.

Almost certainly. I currently have a 6S and am very happy with the price of the SE.

But will likely wait until social distancing restrictions have eased. Not much point of me getting a new phone when spending almost all my time at home.

Now is the best time to buy gadgets when you’ve got loads of time to play with them!

For some gadgets yes. But this is an iPhone. Not really any different to my existing iPhone from a user experience perspective.

I think this is a good idea for a number of reasons but not least because retailers are absolutely going to be fighting for your money when things open up again. I anticipate there are going to be good deals to be had.

Always looking for the sliver of silver lining!
