So it’s just over a year since this feature has launched and I’ve finally got around to using the’get paid early’ feature today. I have to admit that it was nice to get access to the funds this evening rather than on Monday.
However, I can see myself getting tired/irritated of ‘swipe to claim’ element very quickly - I don’t think I’m the target demographic for it - and what I would ideally like is a toggle which automatically claims all BACS payments early for me (or just do it automatically for everyone)
Monzo could then send a notification each time saying you’ve been paid early due to being a Monzo customer.
To me, this reduces the amount of friction involved in claiming the money early and would also benefit more customers/improve Monzo’s reputation for being unique/customer focused.

It wouldn’t be due to being a Monzo customer. Santander pays you early with no fuss whether you want it or not.

But then you wouldn’t be given the opportunity to tell a friend what you just did - which is a thing that needs to be one of the several full screens of fluff for some reason.
You’re right. It should be automatic at 4pm, or at least it should be tap ‘get paid now’ and done with no farting about.

I wouldn’t mind if they changed the animation from time to time. I think that would be a nice touch.
Like putting a star ontop of the tree at Christmas 
The Halloween one is the only different one I’ve seen

Yeah I agree - I really dislike interfaces that are more complicated than they need.
They could still have the animation, and all the same functionality with the tap button.
Going to sound pedantic but these types of interfaces make it harder for people with limited dexterity, etc, so would rather a simpler thing anyway

Does this work on Android? I get 15+ wins on the Premium Bonds every month and i currently drag every one! A batch function or just a global setting would be nice…

Interesting… never tried tapping on the wallet. Always loved dragging down the cash.
The next deposit for me is due in 4 days, I’ll see if this magic-time-saving-tap works on Android then.

Nice - I received a BACS payment yesterday and tried the tap-on-wallet and yes, it worked. 
Still prefer dragging down the cash to the wallet though - it seems to have more satisfaction somehow

Us Android users used to have snow if you shook your phone while in the Monzo app. However that was removed when they did the big redesign

Yeah, that was a drawback of new nav. The in-app shake-to-snow feature disappeared after Xmas 2018
