I’m glad they’ve done it again this year. I got a pay early yesterday and it didn’t have it… Gutted! 
Thankfully it’s payday next week so I’ll enjoy it then 
Still got my fingers crossed for a Christmas one this year if any Monzonaughts are reading this

There’s no reason behind it, it’s a load of nonsense invited by right-wing people to claim that the word Christmas offends people.

Yeah no reason at all but you find every year more and more places refer to it as the festive period as above they claim the word Christmas is offensive.

Greyed out incoming transaction shows ‘Come back at 4pm to claim early’
4pm and 1 second, tap. Nothing.
Tap again, nothing. Tap several times, still nothing.
Spends a few seconds contemplating the fail, then checks the help about Get Paid Early. Nothing seems to have changed 
Then, DOH! 
I’m in a different time-zone and have to wait until 6pm locally to get it.
Maybe add BST/GMT to the help files/pop-up display to prevent future confusion?
A minor detail, sure, but the horror when it appears to be broken

This is something I’ve noticed too when I’ve been abroad. I’ve got mine today and I’m just used to getting it at 5pm CET now.
Would be nice if it did show the correct time based on your time zone, but I’m not expecting it to be fixed any time soon.

Might work better if it had a countdown instead
E.g. “come back in 2hrs 30mins to claim this payment”
Then it doesn’t matter what time zone you happen to be in

I wonder if a countdown pushes more users to get paid early at 4:00pm rather than sometimes after 4pm.
Ideally we want less users claiming their salary at 4pm sharp, not more (an evenly distributed traffic is better for our platform)…

What’s the difference between users choosing to take their BACS payments at 4pm, on mass, vs the ‘automatic’ arrival time of 2-3 in the morning? Say hypothetically everyone on a given day took their payment at 4pm.
Is it just the lack of traffic at 3 am generally that makes that work?

I’d be more than happy with an option to auto-claim between 4 and 5/6. That way you could space things out?
I only claim on or around 4pm because that’s the time advertised and ingrained in my brain. I’d quite happily get it anytime around that if it was automated.
As of now I generally claim at 4 or shortly after from the reminder notification.
I imagine its just different systems, a user requesting it will call a lot of services to fill out all the information in the UI etc before getting to the point they can request it (although if it was automated that is redundant and it could be queued up so its not too much of a load but completed at 4-ish). Where as a BACS transfer probably doesn’t require nearly as much system interaction (no need to populate transaction history, verify the user, etc)
