Totally agree but I had to go through a ridiculous process (IMO) of submitting a Selfie while holding my ID for statements. I explained all the things I could do in-app but they insisted I have to provide this for statements so not sure what has changed now and interesting that @kavi has this working without additional checks already. I will post my conversation with Monzo complaints here whenever I got some time.
I believe the process may have been relaxed slightly very recently, if weāre confident that you are who you are of course.
Iām the one building the bank statement export on Android btw (just in case that wasnāt clear)
Goodā¦ I am glad that Monzo realised the process they put me though was just silly.
I raised an official complaint about this and argued that process does not make sense but got back a very corporate official complaint response. This was one the reason I had to re-think whole Monzo path and eventually moved away. Still using Monzo though but not as my main bank account
I really hope things will improve further and Iāll want to come back
I really hope that your complaint was part of what informed this change ļø
Having access to live chat doesnāt imply having access to the app - in fact you can access live chat via e-mail so itās understandable they were taking precautions.
This feature however accesses the API directly using your authentication token so thereās no doubt itās you using your phone.
Not sure about this I am not aware of technical aspects but email can be used to log in as you know and access to the app is still same as before nothing changed so not sure how the app can differentiate if itās me or someone else. (Ignoring app security)
You need inbound email to log into the app; but you can impersonate an user to the eyes of Intercom (the third-party who provides live chat) using outbound email, which can be spoofed (SPF and DKIM are nice but not all providers support them so as a result Iām not sure Intercom will reject messages lacking those, and so as a result itās quite easy to spoof the sender address of an email and pretend to be the customer).
This is correct. We now do not need an ID selfie to give you your statement
But can you hole punch to the customerās exact specifications? E.g. ISO 838, 888, US 3-hole, US 4-hole, GNU/Hurd, Swedish 4-hole, etc?
What is the difference between US 4 hole and Swedish 4 hole?
Just a few different optionsā¦
Itās not out on either platform yetā¦
