iPhone 12

You’re right. I reckon iPhone 15 might be a punt, then :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I think year-on-year now, the phones don’t really change that much. If you have the money then why not, but I have tried to keep mine for two years and this time three. In reality, there’s nothing wrong with my iPhone X and it could easily last another year at least. I just like shiny new things.

I was in London at the weekend and it’s so quiet everywhere to how it would normally be, but there was probably a 50 person queue in Covent Garden. This is a weekend where London is quiet, no launch just happened and nothing new to look it. I dread to think how it will be when there’s a new iPhone!

Appointment only, I presume. (And with far few appointments than they normally offer, else they’ll simply get shut down.)

They do that normally for a launch! But maybe you’re right, no queue at all and even less appointments.

Four years + seems like the sweet spot to me - that’s when you get a meaningful ‘wow this feels much better’ feeling, which is the feeling I want if I’m paying several hundred pounds for something!

Also, I’m fairly environmentally conscious so I don’t like to replace things unless they really need it.

I’m on an 11 via the upgrade programme, will probably go 12 Pro Max this time, have the spare cash from not commuting, so might as well treat myself

It’s your money so enjoy! For me, being at home is a reason to not upgrade as my phone usage has dropped proportionately with not going out.

Just got a galaxy a21s for £150 brand new, 48mp camera and 6.5inch screen

Half the price of the iPhone 7 and twice as good in my opinion

Oh no what have you done…

So that iPhone 7 lasted what… 6 months? When everyone told you to wait 3 weeks and get the new SE because it would last longer?

How is he going to go 19mph up a hill when the phone is the size of a another person?

Regardless of SE or iPhone 7, it was brand new and the apple pay packed up so I’ll keep it as a spare . The sammy is by far the best phone I’ve owned

The se was out of my price range and “everyone” also said the price of the 7 would drop and it didn’t

And everyone told you to take it back. But you didn’t listen and instead spent £150 on an inferior phone and have an iPhone gathering dust now.

How do you define inferior?
The a21s has mile better battery life, sd card capability, bigger screen, better camera, facial recognition, dual sim, charges faster and is much cheaper cost wise

As long as you’re happy.

Delighted , within my budget and meets my requirements

The iPhone 10 is still serving me well, with 86% battery health after 2+ years. I may just hang on for the 14. I think the next thing will be an ARM-based Mac instead.

The apple bias is strong in here. Not even worth debating - Carry on paying £1K for a phone.
