Can whatever makes this happen also be fixed!?
This also upsets me dearly

It’s only been years people have been asking for these things to be resolved
I can see why to be honest. Makes me wonder if Monzo have a list of all these things somewhere internally. Low hanging fruit, ideal starter projects for graduates etc…
Do they still do the whole Monzo Time thing where people/teams are free to work on whatever they want for a bit?
Hoovering up all the 95%-finished features like this would be a fun project.
Yeah that too, but from memory Monzo Time was what the developer wanted to do. We used to do something similar at a previous company, allow the developers time to flex their creativity, and we once suggested they tackle these little things and got a lot of push back.
Unbelievable that this is still an issue.
It’s not really.
It’s hardly going to be a priority, is it? The main aim for Monzo has been to get users, and now the main aim is to generate a more robust income stream (Plus), so these small outliers that are annoying to a few people are never going to be a priority.
I find it very believable.
An update… The Monzo iOS app now generates statement PDFs that are A4 size
At first I was
And this is definitely an improvement. But…
The contents of the file are still clearly not formatted for A4
I know it’s a small thing, but the result is that there are huge margins at the bottom of each page, so you end up with more pages than necessary and a lot of white space. The side margins are also quite a bit bigger than they need to be, but this doesn’t effect the amount of information on the page in the same way:
I know that statements are very ‘legacy’, but I wish Monzo would put a bit of care into making them look like they’re not a hack.
Edit: To add insult to injury, you also get lines that are cut off halfway down because the page breaks aren’t inserted cleanly between rows. So a chopped line and then a huge bottom margin
It’s happening, at least, slowly but surely.
