Hi Monzoites - made the trip here because of a trip spent in the Caribbean with my millennial son who thinks you are great and finance is now the new wild frontier apparently - most of my financial planning is at the other end of the scale to my son as I am thinking about retiring and selling my business - your card travels well and we like to travel so lets see how it goes in Canada this year - mainstream banks are getting themselves geared up to start charging customers like me who have deposits earning nothing and no significant debt for our domestic current account banking - what can Monzo offer me?

Hiya, I am Loz. I am from South Africa, relocating to London. I am a product designer, constantly curious about the customer.

This time I am the customer and the Monzo experience has been fantastic, from the simple sign up process to actually using Monzo. Loved the campaign, the message or mission, and the product is simply spectacular.

Great to be a part of this community.

New to this so you will have to bear with me  haven’t got a clue what I’m doing :joy:
Just applied for my Monzo card and waiting for it to arrive, going away soon so wanted a card that didn’t charge while I was away, we are going to Tenerife.
I’m a mom of 6 :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and a full time Carer for my husband, don’t really have time for hobbies, but love shopping :shopping: trips with my daughters :girl:t2::blonde_woman:t2: Xx

Best advice yet - don’t do a current account switch for the time being.

Use the account as suggested, be aware of pitfalls, some won’t be an issue, others might. Main problematic one is that some online/physical businesses do not accept the Monzo debit card (not Monzo’s fault).

You don’t want to switch and then see that in some cases (car insurance per another thread) that a provider won’t take your card.

People see CASS as easy as porting your mobile number to another telco - this is your primary current account and you need to be wary.

I switched the manual way, some issues with the app but on the whole, it’s much better than fd. I did and will continue to keep my fd account though for occasional transactions (cash and cheque credits).

Hi everyone new!
@Pepsi-66 it might be a good idea to have a look at the es Monzo in Spain [Discussion] thread before you go away for some helpful advice. Have an amazing holiday.

You’re probably best off calling the number at the back of the card.

Hi @Littleman1999, sorry your currently struggling with your account, unfortunately no one on this forum/thread can assist with your enquiry. I would suggest keep trying the number or emailing Monzo at help@monzo.con

Hi,

New to the Monzo Community, but interested in Mobile Banking, as I just feel it’s a great idea (since most of us these days are electrically charged and connected to some form of device somehow each day). I feel that it’s sometimes easier talking through an App that it is going all the way to your Branch if you have one that is!

Looking into what Monzo has to offer compared to a High Street Bank along with the other Challenger Banks… you already know the ones.

I’ve already given an opinion on Current Accounts and whether or not you should include Interest.

Hi Reena

Welcome to the Community! Hopefully you’ll find Monzo better than those other pesky challenger banks

In terms of interest on the money held in the current accounts I believe that might become part of Monzo Plus but that isn’t fully fleshed out yet but you can see the discussion over here: Monzo Plus - here's what's coming next!

 I’m Dan, 27 and living in London. I work for an American University in Student Advice whilst completing my Master’s in Education! I first started using Monzo some time ago - I’ve now signed up for Plus (can’t wait for Airport lounge access to be a feature!

New to the community and excited to get stuck in.

Thanks, yes i checked out Monzo Plus and its so called benefits. Don’t think I’d really benefit from all of them really. What about if Monzo did a similar thing to Santander where they give you 3% if you have DD’s setup etc? Plus I’m one for not really paying for something if I’m not going to benefit from it fully. If you know the McDonalds advert for their Saver Menu ā€˜Like getting your monies worth?’ saying… same applies here I feel.
