Introduce yourself 👋

Hey all and happy Friday!! :tada:

Been with Monzo for a while now but only recently switched over all my direct debits. I’ve even convinced my partner to join and we’ve now opened our first joint account.

I’m really interested in the #ifttt side of things and I am excited to see how this area develops because the potential is huge. This weekend I’ll be playing about creating my own private applets utilising my javascript knowledge to see how far I can push the currently available hooks.

See you all around!

Welcome @Ordog :wave:t3:,

Hope you enjoy the community here at Monzo. A great place to start is here: Simple Questions Thread (Newbie friendly 🙂)

What made you decide full Monzo was the way to go? :mondo:

Hi @Jackcrwhitney

I’ve not had any difficulties yet and I consider myself quite tech savvy but I do have brain farts from time to time so I’m sure that thread will come in handy - I’ve bookmarked it

ifttt and pots were what tipped me over the edge into moving full Monzo. I’ve also seen the how quickly they’re progressing through the “big list” so the future is exciting. Especially since they’re transparent and open to all ideas! :beers:

only downside is I’m midlands based not London

I’ve looking forward to going to Sweden :sweden: and using my card. The Swedes are basically a cashless society. They mainly use Swish

Sad to be looking forward to using my card ??? :joy::v:t2:

Swedes will normally split the bill so will be nice to use transfer wise through this as well even if you have to pay a small fee :+1:t2::sweden:

Plenty of home based roles ! Keep checking :eyes:

Hi Richard/all,

I am Martin a remote working software developer. I just opened an account today with the primary goal to use Monzo as pocket money account and to explore the API.

Probably will be more lurking than posting.

Cheers!

Hey @anon39541057!!
Welcome! You got any holiday plans already set? Have a search on the boards for the country your going to, usually lots of feedback from other people on here for the places to use your card vs cash etc! :airplane: :sun_with_face:

I’ll be looking forward to some cool stuff you come up with using the API :desktop_computer: . Be sure to share here on the forum  Some great ideas can be found by using the :mag: icon in the top right :arrow_upper_right:

@anon2384991! It all starts with pocket money, here’s hoping you love it! If you ever can’t find anything whilst “lurking” ask away and I’m sure you’ll get plenty of replies/ideas :male_detective:

Use your sort code and account number to transfer cash from your other bank account - and spend it!

Be aware that if you are abroad, you have up to £200 per rolling 30 days of free ATM withdrawals (unlimited in the UK), but you’ll get a great rate using your card to pay in shops, cafes, etc. Always pay in local currency so you don’t get ripped off.

Have a great holiday.
