Consoles have gone up but they said they are reducing the price of the Disc Drive for the PS5 to £69.99. Not seen the reduction yet but will pick one up when they do go down

Gaming ish but didn’t want to make a new thread

PlayStation the concert tickets are on this link for £10-25 a ticket vs the crazy original prices if anyone was on the fence, I wanted to go but refused to pay the original prices.

Been trying to finally finish the Assassin’s Creed games that I’ve got as they have taken me a long long time to finish (not complaining though)!

Finally finished Odyssey and it’s DLC and just really loved that game. Loved exploring Greece and found the combat side of it really good.

Now just have Mirage and Valhalla to finish. Going back to the Valhalla open world has made me realise just how beautiful it is to explore. Think it has to be one of the best worlds in any game I’ve played. I just love it. Feels less copy and paste than Origins and Odyssey worlds so as well. Mirage I am liking a lot and it’s nice to have a smaller game with a bigger focus on stealth. Would be nice to somehow combine these elements with the larger open worlds so you get the best of both worlds in one game (no idea what Shadows is like though).

I know Ubisoft gets some complaints, but I just find their games really fun and good value for money considering the number of hours I’ve put into each of them

I’ll get Shadows when it drops in price, which we all know it will sooner rather than later.

It took me a while to get used to the different combat in Valhalla and Mirage, but I do like it. It feels a bit more challenging than the other 2 which essentially just boiled down to hitting the attack button as much as possible.

Assassins creed was totally ruined when they introduced ships.

Does Valhalla have ships?

Personally disagree. Really loved some of those sea battles in Oddysey, even if I did find them tricky at times.

There are boats in Valhalla but nothing substancial if I remember correctly considering it is just set mostly in England, rather than across lots of Greek islands.

Sounds like my kinda Friday.

Has anyone here actually got AC Shadows yet?

Finished AC Mirage and was a really enjoyable experience. The city was really well crafted which made the exploration and stealth play in a fun way. Also nice to have a game now and again that doesn’t take years and years to actually finish. Although saying that, I would say Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla were all better. Mirage was just a little too small to be as fun as the rest.

Now my epic quest is to conquer England in Valhalla, which I have now learnt is even bigger than I originally thought it was :joy: that’s gonna take another few months! Especially when I get the DLC. But there is something so fun about breaking into a castle with Vikings that is just so entertaining in this game

I hate to say this but I loved black flag.

I really struggled with Valhalla, it’s where I finally abandoned the series. Those castle battles are the same each time, it gets extremely grindy.

It’ll be sad to see Ubisoft go, but I think it likely will before long

Ye I’ve played Valhalla a lot but I have turned off due to it being samey and story not being enough to recover it especially later on. Also I think I had an issue that on one difficulty I just died immediately and on the lower one I never died and smashed through everyone so although smashing through everything fun it eventually got boring with the structure of battles and what you had to do being samey. (Same as taking over bad guy based on spiderman. I just straight lined the story after a while as all the random stuff was just really similar)

I do feel like with Valhalla, you’re either gonna love it or just get bored by it due to it’s length. Personally I’m loving it, but I haven’t really played any of the old Assassin’s Creed either so this is basically what I expected when I got it. I can see that the series has changed quite a bit since Origins so can understand why older fans might not like it so much

To be fair I played it for 84 hours and at 80% completion. I just couldn’t finish it as I have eventually got bored. Maybe I am an hour before the end. Looking at the stats now I’ll add to my list to finally complete one day! The majority of that time spent was when I first got my ps5 and in lockdown. So it has been a while!!

I’m going to finally get back into Starfield now it is on sale! I played it a lot when I had game pass, but didn’t want to buy it. I have Ā£40 in Xbox vouchers so am happily going to explore space again. Really looking forward to it. Found the negativity surrounding this game absolutely ridiculous and seemed to just boil down to people having completely unrealistic expectations for the game.

Plus it means I can actually play the DLC that I got when the game first launched!

Anyone played Schedule 1?

I’ve been watching lots of shorts, and it looks fun. Only 40hrs gameplay since it’s essentially a beta. I’m planning on using one of the days over the bank holiday weekend to give it a whirl

Been playing South of Midnight on Xbox, it’s not too bad so far. Mechanics and graphics are cool but can imagine it gets a bit same same.

Think I’ve got stuck in chapter 5 trying to get to a church across the river? I’ve managed to get up some electricity pylons across and down the other side.
