Current Account Switch Service - existing payees

I’m in the process of using the CASS and noticed I was sent a list of my direct debits and standing orders to transfer to Monzo, but not my existing payees. I asked Monzo help and was told the CASS doesn’t transfer payees.

Looking at the CASS website, it does indeed transfer existing payees (for faster payments etc.). Wondered if I was told incorrectly by Monzo help, or whether the switch service isn’t being done fully/correctly? Any previous experiences would be useful.

When I switched from one legacy bank to another this year the new bank switched payees as well.

I don’t know how this relates to Monzo though.


From what I’ve read on the main CASS thread (edit: it’s actually in this thread) this is Monzo’s implementation: They don’t transfer payees.

I have made two switches in the past (neither involved Monzo) and in both cases the payee list was transferred.


I don’t think Monzo actually has a payee list yet. There’s the recent payees list, but I don’t think that’s the same thing.
