Cheque Payment

I was given a cheque from my auntie over Christmas, I wanted to pay this in to my Monzo account.
What’s the best way for me to do this, I wanted to send it via post?

If you put it an envelope and write “FREEPOST MONZO” on the front, then pop it in a post box it will get to Monzo’s HQ and be processed. It seems like there’s a bit of a backlog at the moment so it may take a few days, but you’ll get a notification in-app once they’ve confirmed it as received.

Thanks Sam, That’s really helpful :slightly_smiling_face:

Remember to write your account number on the back of the cheque too  (in the top-left corner)

Or save it to test the ‘cheque photo’ that is coming soon.

How often do you get cheques?

Surprisingly, quite a lot! Mainly from older relatives who seem to prefer to give cheques rather than cash.

I use a lot of cheques but havnt seen a bankers draft for years.

Hi team,

I juts recieved a very nice cheque from HM Revenue & Customs, normally I would head to my branch to cash it, but I’m full monzo now and I am stuck as what to do. Any suggestions?

The Monzo app is your friend here.

Don’t worry, I’ve looked for you.

Ah, great that is you so much, though I am a bit disappointed that I need to post it, I wonder if there could be an easier way to process these that’s both easier and safe.

I’ve moved your post to another thread about cheques

Unfortunately the cheque imaging we were discussing on this thread has been postponed indefinitely so posting is the only option

I think that the amount of questions about cashing cheques recently goes to show that cheque imaging should be put back in the pipe line for the near future.
After all monzo claims to listen to the customer

Hi, I’m doing this right now with a cheque received from the Tax office as a refund. So I don’t need to put any address on the envelope, just “FREEPOST MONZO”? Thanks

Yes that right or, depending on the amount,

Would it be possible to drop them off directly at that address rather than post them? I’ve gotten some cheques from work but I’m not entirely comfortable with sending them by post. I’m in London fairly regularly, so could easily stop by.

There should be a box in reception. You can drop them in there
