So it’s about 4 months since I got plus and I’m becoming disappointed.
The offers are the same, I could forgive offers I can’t use / have no interest in of they change - even quarterly. I still can’t view my other banks in Monzo, is there any sign of other getting added. These leave it feeling somewhat launched and forgotten (again).
The google drive export is a nice geek feature but I’ve not done anything more than play around with it.
The free cash deposit is nice but with how few times I’lll likly use it that saves me very little over the year, same with interest. This leaves me asking myself are virtual cards, custom categories and multiple categories per transactions worth around £4 a month to me?
Which leaves me wanting to ask will any further developments happen to plus now premium has launched?

To be honest, this is exactly what I feared would happen.
I guess the team that worked on Plus moved on to other projects when it was launched.
Hopefully Monzo are simply waiting to see what the churn rate is and to gather feedback from those who ditch it before deciding whether (or how) to develop it further.
Sadly, going by past experience, they will possibly have largely abandoned it, and the best you’ll be able hope for are improved offers. Though I’d have expected some movement on this by now if they were actively managing this.
This is the exact situation I found myself in. As I’m planning on opening a joint account in the next few weeks, the answer was no.
If I wasn’t planning on opening the joint account or if Plus worked on joint accounts I probably would have kept the subscription going.
Virtual card payments from pots would also have kept me on Plus.
Personally I moved to premium mainly for my phone insurance which works out similar price to what I was paying previously. But left me just over £5 left to make up for. I found the travel insurance to be worth something but currently nothing due to covid but when I originally had plus I found £4 of value that I was using. It would make the extra £1 worth it if they had my credit cards available to link to the app to expand the original selection they currently have.
I called it a day for Plus, I cancelled my membership to Plus yesterday as I’m only using it for the virtual cards and I don’t really use the other benefits (custom categories, export to G Sheets, the discounts with 6-8 retailers).
If they had slowly improved Plus since the launch then I’d consider staying but I haven’t seen improvement to the new Plus. But like the others it seems Plus has been abandoned to focus on Premium
Is it worth £5 (or £4 if you get £1 interest) each month, not really - when you look at other banks like Club Lloyds (£3 a month, or free if you pay £1.5k a month) and you get cinema tickets, movie rentals via Rakuten), 12 month magazine subscription
I must confess, I too have decided to cancel my membership for the same reason. When I signed up, I thought “I’ll pay the £5 and see how they develop it “ but sadly there’s no sign of development. Had they added more features or even announced plans, I’d probably have continued
Pretty much the point I’m at. On another discussion on here there was talk of needing to line up some regulatory ducks to allow that, rotating offers might just have me give them a few more months to align those ducks. Will probably cancel during the post Christmas calm myself.
They really need a team* to work on the offers and ensure that they are refreshed at regular intervals - at least monthly, certainly not longer than four months. I haven’t signed up for Plus, but thought I may reconsider depending on the offers. To hear that there have been no new offers isn’t exactly selling me on the service.
This is untrue The same team that launched Monzo Plus and Monzo Premium are actively working on both accounts. We have some updates and new offers coming soon (some very soon), which we’ll of course share with you when they’re ready.
The only feedback they’re gonna get from me is that I cancelled over the lack of improvements, whilst watching other banks improve their free offerings quite substantially on a near monthly basis. Meanwhile all we got from Monzo was silence, and a few features made worse.
I cancelled because the silence took away any hope I had of Plus ever seeing the improvements I feel it needed to be value for money. With that said, I do very much miss the features I loved.
Hallelujah! If you had said that at the end of month 3, I’d have hung on and kept faith in you to deliver.
We shipped the AMEX integration a month after we launched Plus after it was the most requested feature. We then shipped Monzo Premium with travel and phone insurance and a metal card, all highly requested updates to our paid offering.
AMEX is fair, although at the time when it worked with the previous version it didn’t really feel new. I’m not sure it was the most requested feature, judging from this poll, but perhaps it may have been outside of the community.
For me though, I was really hoping to see some progress or updates on the top voted for request from that poll.
I don’t think premium counts though, as it doesn’t really add anything to the £5 plus product.
Third me in this. I like the virtual cards, I think they are a neat idea, and I use one for all my subscriptions, and another for one off purchases. But I could live without them.
Then the other features, exports to G Sheets I do like. Do I use it? Absolutely not, but it’s another nice to have.
The blue card is pretty, and I like it, but I use my phone to pay in shops most of the time (rarely taking my wallet with me anywhere), so that’s pointless
The only thing that actually benefits me now I think about it is the custom and split categories, which is something people have been asking for for years and now is locked behind a £5 per month paywall. It benefits me just enough that I’m happy to continue paying £5 per month though
