Who needs payslips?! See your salary in Monzo before it gets paid

This is one of the many reasons I went #fullmonzo Just seen today that my wife’s salary has shown up the day before (at around 8:30 if that interests you) and as we work for the same employer, I expect mine to be the same

Great feature! :grin::grin:

Brilliant feature, however I have a feeling that I’ll still need to contact COps to change the merchant name and add a logo this month. Apparently as there is no ‘gap’ in the payment reference, Monzo are unable to match it to a merchant automatically. Can anyone at Monzo :monzo: confirm if this is still the case or has it been resolved? Getting pretty frustrated having to do it month after month :frowning:

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I’d love to be able to add the PDF version of my payslip to my incoming salary transaction on Monzo. Does anyone know if there’s plans to allow this?

That’s a great idea, I’d find that useful.

If only. Currently I have to log in to a 3rd party website, click on documents, then payslips, then click on the payslip date, then download/print. Wish I hadn’t bothered changing from the old fashioned perforated bits of actual paper. Oh, and I get paid weekly so that’s even worse.

I can have a proper look into that if you wanna chuck me your email :eyes:

If it’s the same BACS info it’s weird that it’s not carrying through.

In your specific case the information we get from BACS every month is different, so we have to fix it manually

Thanks Beth, will drop you a message now.

Hey Kieran, in what context? The only thing that seems to change is the payment reference, the account and sort code remain the same? Surely it’s not that unusual for an employer to use a unique payroll reference to distinguish each salary payment? Thanks!

Oh, Kieran knows aha  I’ll let him field it.

This would be great ^

So you can add an image to the transaction (on Android, at least). A really nice small tweak would to be able to upload PDFs too.

I’ve gone to extreme measures and just left said employer to make it easier for Monzo  it is annoying! I think it is pretty unique as well that the reference changes every time

:joy: It’s honestly ruining my experience every month having to message COps like a broken record.

I just find it strange how the reference is affecting this, surely the key part of the data that the merchant enrichment should be associated with is the company’s bank account account number. I find it hard to believe that no other large companies with huge payrolls use changing references. There’s instantly 100,000+ people potentially affected by this issue, without even considering other companies.

The problem with linking it to a bank account would be someone like Capita who do payroll for several companies would possibly send it out of one account for all those companies so reference makes the most sense.

I mean yer you’re right but it appears there is only 2 of us on Monzo :stuck_out_tongue: and I’m about to leave so only you are affected haha

I’m actually suprised there isn’t a merchant AI engine that gets fed all this and auto matches based on correction data because then it would learn eventually

I know there’s definitely more than two! They’re just not active on here or they lurk in the background quietly

I love this feature!

I love all the upcoming incoming/outgoings that show on the app - I just think it would be better if they could be minimised… something like ‘ you have 5 direct debits going out - click to view’ and then you can expand them.

All of my direct debits go out around the same time after payday, so I have lots just taking up my screen and can’t see my transactions.

An amazing feature though.
