I’ve never been able to see my salary the day before - it only ever shows when its paid. Apparently we are paid by BACS…
Exactly this! My screen goes mad especially if the 1st is a Monday and it stays there all weekend
Hello!
I have a quick question.
I’ve just changed jobs, gave my employer bank details, its now the day before payday and it isn’t displaying on my app.
Is this because I’ve not been paid by this employer before? I’m just a little concerned they in-case they won’t accept Monzo!
There might be a few reasons, but one of which is how they pay you. My employer pays using Faster Payments (i.e. a normal bank transfer) and those never show up in Monzo until they come in. Payments using Direct Credit, however, will show up the day before. My previous employer did that and I’d see it the day before.
My salary and a direct debit for tomorrow aren’t showing yet either, so there may be an issue or delay somewhere.
EDIT: Well, they weren’t there right before I posted this, but they were after.
So if your a Civil Servant who’s department uses SSCL, you’ll get the greyed out amount around 9.30 the day before you get paid.
Salary that comes in via BACS method will show a day before it hits your account . Hopefully that was helpful
I get paid by BACS (I think) but don’t see this. Maybe because I get paid weekly instead of monthly?
To be fair, we are supposed to get paid on Fridays but I almost always get the money on Thursdays.
Is there something me or my employer has to do?
I get paid by bacs and weekly on a Thursday. It shows in my account at around 9am every Wednesday.
Ah, okay thanks for the info.
Maybe it depends on the bank you are being paid from?
My employer uses Bank Of Ireland.
It shouldn’t matter what bank it is - or even if it’s your salary. And money coming into your account by BACS should be visible the day before.
If I had to guess, I’d say that you’re being paid by faster payments.
Imagine if like receipts there was full payslip integration though! Tax break downs etc!
It might be reality soon! HMRC is currently testing an API for PAYE
https://developer.service.hmrc.gov.uk/api-documentation/docs/api/service/individuals-paye/1.0
Now that would be amazing!
I would pay Monzo to implement this. My employers payslips are awful.

Use this API to get Paye As You Earn (PAYE) information about an individual, including:
- employments - including income, tax, student loan deductions and company benefits
- private pensions - including income and tax
- State Pension - including regular payments and lump sums
- tax-free allowances
- taxable social security benefits - including Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Incapacity Benefit
This is huge! Imagine having all this information at your fingertips! Being able to track all of your private pensions alone would be an amazing feat, especially if you’ve changed jobs quite a bit in your time.
You can get most of it today from https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account which is an awesome resource but it would be cool to see if pulled in to your bank!
