What's the Last Bit of Tech You Bought?

I used the Skull Shaver but then switched over to Manscaped and use that.

What shaver connects with an app?

Never seen that before. Looks cool, but can’t find that online for sale in the UK. Looks like the first version is but it’s £249.

This one… I got it when the price dropped. Philips Shaver i9000 Prestige Ultra, Wet & Dry Electric Shaver, Adriatic, Skin IQ Pro Technology, Triple Lift & Cut System, 360 Rotating NanoTech Precision Blades, 5 Shaving Modes, Model XP9401/38 : Amazon.co.uk: Health & Personal Care

I like the look of this for a small easily transportable shaver.

You have more important things to buy. Such as a tandem oled.

Got to sell my old WOLED first

I’m really getting old - looking at this stuff and thinking “how much?”. I got the Philips for £280 and was wincing at that. The last decent electric razor I bought cost about £50 but I suppose that was 1984… It had LED charging indicators, very high tech :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

We finally splurged a bit and got something we’ve been wanting for a few years - a proper realistic-looking electric fire. We can’t install a wood burner in the house, and we don’t want to reconnect the old gas fireplace, so electric was our only option. I must say I am incredibly impressed at the realism of the thing, if you didn’t know it wasn’t a real fire I don’t think you could tell without a very close inspection. Got it on a really nice sale from B&Q too!

Here’s a video I just took of it in action:

Our first gen Nest Hello has stopped working so looking for another doorbell to replace it. Would have just gone for another Nest/Google but looks like they only offer one battery model and it’s four years old.

Bought the just released Ring Plus on sale from Amazon and hoping it’s decent.

Our Tumble Dryer also gave out after 11 years so bought a Hisense Heat Pump model discounted from Costco. Literally had to go to the store and single-handedly get it from the warehouse floor back to the house.

The kids are so spoiled they wouldn’t stop moaning about the crunchy non laundered towels for the two weeks we had to rack dry them.

I find the crunchiness of a rack dried towel adds a nice exfoliating dimension to the drying experience personally :joy:

They compared it to having their bodies grated :joy:.

Even though I recently posted about the excitement I had about the Steam machine - some of the discourse about pricing made me reposition my savings pot and transformed it into a PS Portal

Not great for online play like Elden Ring Nightreign due to minor lag but the ability to cloud stream from the Playstation Premium catalogue is very sick

Makes for chill gaming while the OH watches on the big screen.

I am going to wait for the Steam Machine to come out. Then if i like the Steam Machine (which I will), I will have to get it a friend in the form of a Steam Deck.

I installed a Ring Battery Video Plus around a year ago and it has been great. It was very straightforward to configure it to concentrate on the drive and front garden and I get very few false positives from people or cars going along the street. Battery lasts months between charges, too.

I’ve seen on Reddit that you can get the new wired Nest Doorbell ordered from the US via Amazon. It’s a plug and play type of installation with an existing Nest Hello as you just need a transformer for it to be wired up correctly. Unsure why Google don’t sell it officially

Not sure it’s classed as Tech but my Pressure Washer has packed in and after similar issues with Karcher machines over the past 20 odd years I’ve gone for a new brand - Ava of Norway and hoping it lasts a good while as it has a 10 year warranty and a plus is that my Karcher accessories will fit the Ava
