Just picked up a Thinkpad Z13 (first generation) in Lenovo sale.
Do cars count in this topic?
Last week I ordered a defender 110 with a few tasty extras. Just got 6-9 months to wait
Very similar to this.
Someone’s doing well! Love that!
Because someone, somewhere, has apparently decreed that expensive devices should come with charging cables but without plugs, I’ve gone and ordered this:
On the one hand, damn them!
On the other hand, as the owner of multiple smartphones now, I can see where they’re coming from.
But I only have the one spare plug (came with Pixel 3aXL) as all the ones from my previous phones (two or three HTC models) have already been re-used. I got a few of those dinky little physical emulators of classic consoles, which came with cables and no plugs, so the old plugs got co-opted for those. Those plugs are also full USB, as were (rather than USB-C), so I wouldn’t be able to reuse them for the new devices without buying new cables anyway.
Hopefully now the industry has decided to standardise on USB-C no-one will move away from it for a good long time!
Its a little more than what I’m paying currently but not much.
I read an article earlier that 2022 onwards defenders have improved security to stop people hacking the keyless frequencies. Which is why they’re a popular stolen vehicle. I think they’re recalling older models too.
So fingers crossed it will come down by the time mine is delivered
Nice flex.
Also nice car. I’ve a slightly older discovery sport and it’s hands down the best cast I’ve ever owned. I’m sure you will, but when my came with road tyres they came off and all terrains went right on it. Massive difference in pertinence in grim conditions.
*I’ll add I live in a rural, hilly area where a 4x4 is the difference between driving in winter or not
I have a RRS right now but eyeing up a Cayenne for a change. It felt pretty epic to drive over the RRS and its offroad chops are a lot better but not landy great yet.
Landy are nice but the whole theft and insurance issue is a huge huge concern, landys are the most stolen car brand by a lot in the uk.
I have shank’s pony.
I did consider this as i live quite rural too. My only concern was added road noise, particularly when commuting to work on the motorway.
Do you believe this to be an issue?
The ones I have a slightly louder noise but they’re “crossover” and have performed superbly In mud, snow and everything in between
I’ll swing it back to tech now.
I’ve just ordered a huawai mobile broadband dongle thing as I’ll be working from their house for awhile and their broadband is diabolical!!
Not tech that I’ve bought yet but I’ve been back dabbling in film photography lately - have found this modern take on medium/large format photography and I am SO tempted…
Perhaps a Flex purchase incoming
Trying to get my work travel bag as light as possible - just picked up an Anker100W Gan charger so I don’t have to carry the laptop brick.
Oh nice! I started life as a photographer just after film exited stage left; having trained on medium and large format cameras this bring back good memories.
Do it
Need them to do a 130w. My laptop complains if it’s lower than 130w
Really? I’m using it with a Thinkpad Z13 and it’s perfect - for my business trips combined with the GAN plug it’s really cut weight and size.
I use a 65w with my laptop and have no issue. Bonus that it’s quite a bit smaller than 100w bricks.
Won an auction on an LG DualUp for around half the price they go for new. Seems to be in great condition judging from the photos on the auction, but will reserve full judgment til it arrives sometime in the next week! That’s a key part of rejigging my desk setup, as it’ll allow me to get rid of two monitors and replace them with one.
Very keen to hear how you find it!
