We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

It is still there but in the summary screen. Although I did like the widget too.

Yes I know it is still there, but I just preferred having the widget there when I opened the app. I don’t always need to know the breakdown of my expenses, but I did like seeing how much left and days to go on the main screen.

I agree I liked the widget. It had the 2 things you need front and centre. How much left and for how long.

it doesn’t fit my screen (galaxy s7)

no like it

if monzo continue to mess with the UI to the detriment of my ease of use of the app, I’m switching my salary back to legacy and will use monzo just as a spending app again.

shame, but i’m fed up of all the tinkering, beta or not.

perhaps i just have a low tolerance level at the moment (not helped by the shift key packing up on my macbook as you can probably tell from the lowercase text)

Fits OK on my Huawei P Smart but I have the text size smaller.

Once my monzo.me name change is sorted I think I’m going to pull out of this testing. My brain can’t cope with the layout/feed issues

You’ve opted in to a design beta… If you don’t like it changing around just opt back out. Amazes me the amount of people here willing to opt in to a beta and then complain about it changing.

I have a nice big screen on my P20 mate pro and the new updated layout doesn’t fit the screen, both the left and right buttons are overhanging and cut off. It really isn’t a good look and I think that someone has messed up here with this beta update, hopefully it will improve in the next update

doh. forgotten that

me bad

. . . . . and breathe

Is this update Android only? Doesn’t seem to have kicked in for iOS (at least not for me).

For what it’s worth i’m not a fan of the most recent changes either, but I will wait till we get an update (hopefully soon!) about the changes and what the plan is to pass proper judgement as it might all be either a temporary solution or part of a bigger plan!

you never know.

i just thought they had gone crazy with all the weird updates, however, had genuinely forgotten i had signed up to a beta program.

will wait and see what’s coming :soon:

@Suitcasebecky I Agree, hopefully all just trying to help make it better for the future

Android beta 2.53.1 feedback

The good news; the feed refresh when changing accounts (from Joint to Personal and vice-versa) is fixed. No strange ‘cross-feed’ entries, no need to go to payments and back to correctly display the in-focus feed.

The bad news; probably to allow the good news, the feed has been relegated to be off display by default, only available via the ‘pull-up’ bar at the bottom on initial display of the Home tab. So the first thing I see is all the information I don’t need and none of the information I do need.

Please go back to the ‘peeping’ card display by default which shows the just top of the card with at least the most recent transactions in the feed. At least I can see a Total (amount of money available pre-commited spending), the card/account I’m looking at and the most recent transactions. And then there’s Summary…

Summary is almost useless as a blue button under the card, especially when the only way to see the button to tap on it is when the transaction feed is ‘minimised’ and not viewable. Summary needs to be a widget as before, shown at the top of the feed. If this isn’t possible for whatever reason(s) then as someone else suggested, switch it with ‘Help’; put summary on the bottom nav bar and put help as a blue button under the card instead. I use summary every day. I use help maybe once a month.

There is still a massive opportunity wasted by having the card take up a large amount of display, yet it does nothing. Make it do something if tapped on, like show a selection list of ‘PIN & card number’, ‘Freeze/unfreeze’, ‘Add money’, ‘Manage’ - something which is non-critical to the need for instant visual feedback on critical areas of the account being displayed.
Summary does not belong here. Switch it with ‘Help’ or preferably move it back to the top of the feed as a widget.

At-a-glance information on the Home display is crucial and this update makes it harder to see this crucial information.

Out now for iOS (2.53.0). Anyone updated yet?

Might wait as long as poss if I’m gonna lose the summary widget like on android.

Nope. I’m waiting to see if Summary has been relegated too

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t summary the absolute staple of this app for most people. Everyone loves to budget and work out their immediate spending for the month. Seeing it slowly get relegated is very odd in my opinion.

As mentioned above it should replace help. To be honest it should be in the middle and payments should be on the right.

Totally agree with you

Totally agreed. Have been very confused by this thinking from the team.

Literally the reason I got Monzo.
