We're working on a new look for the Monzo app

Just noticed that the new screenshot accompanying the Save section on the Monzo homepage shows a value of £4000 in a pot, but unlike elsewhere in the app the value doesn’t have a thousand separator comma.

Just a note to say I’d like to be able to reorder my pots after swiping down to view them all.

I think with this layout and Monzo Plus, Monzo seem to be making a lot of bad choices lately and not really listening to the community.

I initially started hopeful about both, but now I just barely open the Monzo app whereas I used to check it daily.

I’m going to have to disagree with you on this because frankly, you’re wrong about the way Monzo have handled the new layout.

Bruno and the team have listened to and responded to the community at every avenue, explaining choices and noting and addressing feedback at every turn. If you don’t like it, that’s fine, but to compare it to the Plus fiasco just because you don’t like it is poor on your part. It’s a totally different ballgame.

Admittedly, I hadn’t checked this thread in a week or so, and did miss Brunos big post when scanning through, so fair play on that. Although no need to be so attacking in your tone imo.

@bruno a quick comment about copying sort-code/account number via long pressing the blue pill - it’d be really useful to be able to copy them both in one action, rather than individually. Also, when pasting the sort code, it comes in as one 6-character string, rather than with the hyphen dividers. I was expecting to have that, as that’s how it displays in-app.

I think that’s a tricky one, because hyphen dividers can muck up pasting into websites. It depends on what you’re copying the sort code for.

The good thing about Monzo’s sort code, is it’s so easy to remember and type, I don’t generally need to copy it.

@bruno it would be great if, when clicking the Home button (on Android 2.64.1), the app didn’t default to swiping you all the way back to “Things you can do with Monzo”. Clicking Home should probably keep you on the main current account. If we could also choose whether or not see this final “card”, that would be nice.

Apologies if noted before!

That’s normal behaviour.

Tapping on ‘Home’ cycles through the ‘parent’ cards (Personal Account & Joint Account), connected credit cards, then ‘Things you can do with Monzo’, then cycles round again as you continue tapping it.

I find this very useful as I have a number of parent cards & connected credit cards.

But if you have only one Personal Account, then tapping on home will cycle you through to ‘Things you can do with Monzo’ because that is the next thing in the horizontal cards list. You’ll have to tap home again to get to your Personal Account, which does seem counter-intuitive in itself.

Home has poor accessibility with a screen reader. I can’t access my other pots on Android.

I agree, there isn’t any real listening going on beyond the usual corporate lip service.

I think that’s pretty clearly evidenced by the numerous adversarial responses to criticism from staff members over the course of this thread.

@Dope can you give a bit more context as to why it’s not working well for you with a screen reader? We’ve made big improvements in the past weeks and are very keen to hear your feedback about it!

By the way… we have new Pot images to go with the new navigation that will hit the apps very soon. We won’t break compatibility for Pots using the old images, but the old ones won’t be available anymore for new/existing pots.

Here’s a sneak peek :eyes:

And also a new set of solid colour Pot images, in line with our brand colour palette

Oh one more thing!

From today onwards every new customer gets the new navigation :tada:

100% rolled out to new customers.

It’s disappointing and regrettable that Monzo seems to be pressing on with the roll-out regardless of some of the feedback we’ve given here.

Quite a number of us have highlighted what we see as issues with the new layout, but there doesn’t seem to have been any attempt to take this feedback into the new design.

For example, the cluttered feel of the home screen seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of the feedback here. What is Monzo doing to fix this before the roll out?

What is it that gives it a cluttered feel to you?

I had a look at the old nav before it goes forever and actually think the new one feels more open and less cluttered. It may be a matter of opinion thing though

I do think moving round the new app needs a little work though to make it more intuitive

If I have TalkBack enabled, I can single finger swipe down the elements on the screen but when I get to the carousel of accounts, it only reads out 3 in view, not all my accounts/pots and the discover option at the end.

So when is new look day? (Full roll out for every customer old and new)
