To my knowledge, the credit card integration isn’t 100% yet. A lot of it relies on screen scraping by visiting the website itself as a user would and pulling the balance off the screen. OpenBanking isn’t yet a standard that has been fully rolled out and therefore I’d expect the credit card functionality to be a little flakey until such time all banks can provide their data to one another in a more sensible manor.
My card updates, but Monzo mistake my Lloyd’s Current account balance for the credit card so intermittently wrong. I’ve since removed the card and shall re-add it when OpenBanking is all good to go.
The new navigation has simply moved the existing building blocks around so there are no changes to the way the credit card integration works as a result of this.
There is a toggle in Monzo labs if you enabled it - in regards to the overdraft, im pretty sure you can still see the functionality but I personally don’t use an overdraft so someone else here would have to answer that properly for you
@bruno just noticed (iOS TF v2.62b555) that in the Payments tab, the card icon is different to everywhere else in-app (it’s missing the chip, which looks much better, TBH!)
Context: iPhone X, iOS 12.4. I have a personal account with one pot and a joint account with three pots.
Overview of all accounts and pots
Having the link to the overview in the top left is frustrating: it’s not obvious and it’s the furthest away from my thumb.
The gesture to go from the Home screen to the account overview is not easily discoverable.
[NEW] Adding a difficult to discover gesture is not a good way to solve the problem (that the overview is hard to get to in the first place).
This new gesture does not feel intuitive.
It is only activated by pulling the bottom half of the screen and not the cards/pots.
When activating the gesture, it seems strange that the entire screen including the profile photo and search is animated. I think it should feel like you’re zooming out of the account, not the entire app.
[FIXED]You cannot see how much money is in each account + pots.
Navigating between accounts and pots
Having to reach to the top third of the screen to move left and right feels like a lot of effort. It would be much more natural if you could swipe left and right on the big white panel.
The big white panel (transaction list/pot details) can be in three positions and it’s not easy to consistently place it where you want. It feels like it’s my job to keep managing which position it’s in and keep adjusting it.
It feels like it takes a long time to move between accounts. Every personal account pot makes it slower to get to my joint account, which discourages pot usage.
[NEW] Tapping the home icon to switch accounts is not easily discoverable.
[NEW] Relying on a shortcut to quickly switch accounts was a flaw in the previous design and this just feels like a different way of doing the same thing.
[NEW] There is no animation when you tap the home icon to switch accounts, so it may be difficult to understand what has happened, especially if you have discovered this shortcut by accident.
[NEW] The Home button seems to have two functions. When you first tap the Home button, the transaction list moves down to reveal account options - why? If you tap it again, it then switches accounts. This is very confusing.
Nav bar
The nav bar is not persistent, which makes it harder to understand where you are and get around.
Different screens have different ways of getting Home. For example:
In the account overview, select an account in the middle of the screen
In Summary, press Close in the top right
In Settings, press Back in the top left
What’s going on in my account
You can’t see the affect of your spending on your balance through the month as there is no graph and no running balance.
The “£x left for y days” thing does not have the days to go indicator, so you cannot easily see how much money you have vs how many days remain. (I know a fix is promised in a future release.)
The placement of Summary in the top right feels arbitrary.
In Summary, you can no longer switch between personal and joint accounts.
Misc
There is now seems to be a Settings menu inside another Settings screen. Click on your face in Home -> Settings cog in account overview -> Settings
In the new design, when you have multiple accounts and pots, it’s not easy to see all of your accounts and pots, or navigate between them. The solution seems to be to add shortcuts, but these are not discoverable or intuitive. The new navigation is meant to scale elegantly to support more accounts and features in the app, but it feels like it’s designed for those with one account and few pots. It doesn’t take much more than this before it breaks down and makes navigation tiresome.
In the future we might want to make use of this gesture for other stuff, like snoozing feed items etc. That’s why we’re avoiding using this interaction for navigation for now.
@bruno - I raised via TestFlight that my left to spend this month is not updating unless a large purchase is made (£100+ or so) then it just goes to “we think you’ll run out money this month”
Home button – great! Finally easy to get back to the top of the list of transactions, but don’t understand why it then skips straight to the fully lowered state. Still needlessly difficult to return to the default view.

This may have been mentioned before but I’ve always hated that there are essentially three settings pages. The cog in the account selector, the ‘Settings’ link on that page and then the manage card page. I’ve often tried to look for a setting and had to check all three. It would be great to have one page with all of this nicely sectioned up.
