Go to monzo labs in her app settings. Should be able to disable it there.
Great, thank you!
I agree with your feelings about the pull down gesture and its unexpected behaviour. Feels like the team are implementing a “innovative” solution to a problem of their own making. Using an alien gesture to access what is meant to be my “financial hub” seems just wrong to me.
Speaking personally, I would much rather the “Home” button take me to my account overview page … it’s easily reachable on the bottom nav bar and would I really don’t like side swiping between accounts, nor the scrolling animations when using the home button to switch accounts.
Whether or not something is intuitive is largely down to conveyance. I feel, at least with the new gesture, that it has been conveyed pretty well that the drawer can be pulled down further (a bouncy little down chevron). Once the user has done this once, they will discover that is how they can see a list of all accounts and pots.
For those reasons, I feel like it is in fact a fairly intuitive control with a little bit of simple learned behaviour.
Thanks I can use the old design again. At least for now.
It’s not so much that Monzo need to demonstrate how the tray works, as there are plenty of other iOS apps that use a similar design to hide/show the information beneath it.
It’s more that it goes against the accepted purpose for which other apps use the tray design. You swipe down to dismiss the tray or shrink it, not as a shortcut to a different menu. I think this is why it feels “unintuitive” as I put it.
It would be like replacing the “pull down to refresh” gesture that many apps use and deciding that this is now a shortcut the help screen. It just doesn’t feel right, if that makes sense.
Ah ok, yh I see what you mean now. That makes sense.
So I started a chat due to an issue with changing my address
I have a red dot constantly
Even though I don’t have a message from Monzo
Also the red dot is in a really weird place that doesn’t look naturally on the help button
I like the new design, to see my card continuously is a bit annoying, there’s no need, it could be swiped as the other cards.
Plus I would make it black/dark background, as it was before, I liked, and make it thinks be been see clearly. at least on my view.
Keep up with the great work.
Thank you
Hey great work everyone at Monzo Some android feedback:
-
I really miss the Pots Total that we used to have. I can see grand total in my account (personal + pots), total of my personal account, but no total of pot money. I k ow I could do the math and subtract the 2 amounts, but I don’t want to do this everyday - especially since it used to be there.
-
As I have so many pots it takes a long time to whizz through them all, even when clicking the home button
-
I accidently sent someone money from my joint account - my partner was not happy
I didn’t mind switching between the two previously.
Not sure if you’re still working on it - it certainly is a difficult redesign to balance all this stuff and meet everyone’s needs - but you’re doing great keep up the good work Monzo team
Have been using the new interface for a few days - I like the new cleaner layout - seems very prestine, modern, and easy to see where all the info is in one place, without it being too cluttered.
Payments seems more well curated than jsut a big list of all the things, but I wuld like better payee management - mainly merging existing contacts.
A few bits of bits that could be improved.
- Total Account overview - in the old interface you could see the sum total of your current account + pots - I can’t seem to find that now - I found that really useful as an overall indicator or my accounts ‘health’
- I don’t like the sideways scrolling action to get to your pots / other accounts from the Home tab - I’ve got to swipe through all my pots to get to my Joint Account - which doesn’t make sense, from a frequency of use point of view.
- There’s also no fast switch between the two, as far as I can tell - best seems to be Tap on my profile image which takes me to a list of all my accounts (I accidentally stumbled on this but would not have found this view otherwise - I would expect profile related settings) - which again needs scrolling.
- Tapping again on the profile picture doesn’t then take me back, takes me to profile settings - I find this workflow confusing.
- I miss generally Long Press to Switch.
- I’d like to reorder my pots.
That’s about it. Generally the multiple account switching could be improved.
@bruno is iOS 2.62 coming today?
It’s out already, check TestFlight
I think @talon means on the AppStore rather than TF.
I updated to the iOS TestFlight version the other day that has the updated functionality for the home button, and have to say I was disappointed. It’s still a lot more cumbersome than the old tap-and-hold the tab bar to see and switch between accounts:
-
The first tap of the home button only collapses the transaction list which doesn’t help with anything, but more problematically, converts
Personal|Joint Account
at the top of the screen to sort code/account number. As someone who doesn’t memorise my account numbers, I’m no longer sure which account I’m looking at (and unlike with the old Pulse graph, the background colour of the header is the same for Personal and Joint accounts). The graphic of the card doesn’t even show the proper joint account card (it’s a plain Monzo card, without theJoint Account
text in a bubble in the top left). -
The second tap of the home button switches accounts, but includes any connected credit cards and a “Things you can do with Monzo” screen. I know what I can do with Monzo, I just want to quickly switch between my personal and joint accounts!
So now, I potentially need 4 taps just to switch accounts, and have the added confusion of which account I’m looking at. @bruno, can you consider re-implementing a way to quickly toggle between our Monzo accounts? I’d be happy with a return of the long-tap on the tab bar. It’s fine if it’s a semi-hidden power user feature. I just want a simple, consistent way to switch between my Monzo accounts. Thanks!
I’d love an option to turn this off
200%
I think also for people who have been with monzo a while this is an awful waste of space and more importantly wastes an extra tap on the home button to get to the actual desired location.
I don’t know whether somebody has already mentioned this but the gap on either side of the tabs is different
Thanks for the update today, great to have the little bar thing showing my left to spend progress on the main page
BUG!
Since switching to the new layout my credit card has been no longer updating. It used to update every few hours but now it just says ‘updates 9 days ago’.
