You don’t normally need to inform anyone. I’m sure someone can confirm but I’d be surprised if that was the case.

thank you madman

You wouldn’t need to let them know in advance as with most if not all travel insurance policies.

They’d be inundated with unnecessary call/email volumes if was the case.

Call it a safety net should anything go wrong. You tell them and they’ll look into it.

thank you Carlo

Usually, the cover should begin on its own, so you don’t need to let them know before you go. To be safe, it’s still a good idea to quickly check your insurance in the app.
You contact them to file a claim if something goes wrong while you’re abroad.
I hope your time in Prague is fantastic!

with revolut if you have an account that comes with travel insurance you have to pay for the holiday using the revolut card which i think is a bit of a joke

Not particularly. It’s just part of their terms for cover.

Given that the post you are replying to is three years old, I think we should be told!

Hello I also have travel insurance from Monzo. I understand that for a typical trip, you “don’t need to tell them before you travel”. Usually, you are automatically covered.

You can “contact the insurance company and file a claim then” if something goes wrong while you’re traveling. Just to be sure, it could still be a good idea to quickly review the policy in the app. Enjoy your trip to Prague!

Again.
