Touch ID for ATM withdrawals

Today I learnt that Touch ID on iOS and presumably watchOS will be coming to ATM’s across the US. Apple Pay took some time to make its way to devices and merchants in the UK but I do hope this technology follows suit banking services adopt this technology in the UK.

The system will require using an app

Aaaand dropped. I can already see so many issues with this.

With ATM support in progress for Apple Pay, Android Pay and other tokenised mobile payment systems natively, I don’t exactly see why anybody would want a mess of QR codes and an app just for certain ATMs at this stage.
