The Monzo app is changing: we've had a makeover!

I can’t believe that some people are threatening to leave because of a redesign  All the functionality is still there!

What happens (and believe me it will) when the bank you move to redesigns their app too? You’re going to be continually leapfrogging from bank to bank, ruining your credit rating because why? You didn’t want to stick it out and get used to something new?

Madness :exploding_head:

All the functionality is still there!

Whilst I agree with you, let’s not lie…

The pulse graph is gone and along with it the functionality of quickly scrolling back through large periods of time.

No my wife is…

I really do not like the new look.

I trialled it when it was available in Monzo Labs and turned it off because I found it cumbersome horrible to navigate. My wife doesn’t like it either and where before she raved about the app it is now forcing her to look elsewhere and is thinking of leaving Mozno.

I don’t think we are alone. Everyone I speak to says the same thing and here is a snap shot of feedback from the Apple AppStore of feedback from other people…

Please please please fix it. Very happy for you to revert back to the old version. It was much nicer and easier to navigate.

And just to echo what other people have said - the main thing I don’t like is the swiping on the home screen with the pots and then the joint account. It gets very confusing for us.

Ah that sounds like exactly what I need!

Yea… the only thing is - those reviews look like people;e just trying to drive reviews down as usual because they don’t like a company (so could be the same people commenting multiple times - based on what the user names look like)

I don’t tend to leave apps running in the background on my phone so it might do this for me too.

Sadly this is expected when you redesign something.

It takes generally takes around two weeks for people to stop hating it.

What are you swiping to see? You can access your joint account by pressing the home button

That’s very true.

People are being very over the top with their criticism (or sometimes lack of it) too. A pattern is emerging that it is just 1 part that they don’t like rather than the “entire app is awful”.

Hopefully Monzo can iron out these little issues and then everyone will be happy

I was looking for a forum to give Monzo feedback on the app and went there first before I thought of looking for this community. I gave feedback in the same way they did. You might be right, but I’m a Monzo fan and crowdfunder who doesn’t want to drive down reviews but just looking for a way to give feedback. You might be right, but wouldn’t discount them doing the same as I did.

I have:

  • Main Monzo Account
    ** Pot 1
    ** Pot 2
    ** Pot 3
    ** Pot 4
  • Joint Account
    ** Pot 1
    ** Pot 2
    ** Pot 3
  • Things you can do with Monzo

Too much going on.

Yep - I can see you can do that - and it does make it quicker to get between the accounts. It’s probably the sheer amount of pots and stuff I have. I like to organise my money, so I budget money for lunches when I get paid and re-issue myself the money during the month (for example). I found it to be a great budgeting too.

Hi, I am yet to get the Monzo redesign, when is the latest date that all Monzo users will get the new app?

People genuinely hate change and progression. iF iT AiNt bRoKe dOnT FiX iT. Heard it all before.

Just hard to see the backlash after all the hard work the Monzo guys put into it.

If you don’t want to swipe between a load of Pots then swipe down and voila… you have a list.

Don’t swipe, pull down or click your profile picture to see a list.

People don’t like change, they are used to something and now it’s different. I’d take AppStore reviews with a punch of salt, people always complain about a redesign, the same happens for every app.

The world keeps turning and people get used to it.

They aren’t saying this is the end, the design will evolve and improve. People maybe don’t find it intuitive right now but new users (and beta testers) will have been giving the boatloads of app data to work with.

I’m I dreaming this up or has the separate post about the “new announcement” been deleted? Slightly confusing but it was about the “keep an eye out this week for a post from out CEO” text that has now been amended in the blog for this thread. :man_shrugging:t2:

Original wording:
We’ve made room for the Monzo that’s coming We’re not done yet. We have some new features that we’ll be releasing soon; keep an eye out for a blog post from our CEO Tom next week.

He tells the truth

There was a post about asking what it was referring to and what was coming next. But I can’t find it anymore and the text is now changed. Not something we would normally expect from Monzo :man_shrugging:t2:
