I think it’ll be Glasgow for some reason but I think Liverpool makes more sense.

Well, Birmingham did have the Commonwealth Games :smile:

Apparently, or allegedly, the riverside venues are what may have swung it for Glasgow and Liverpool.

I’d rather it was in Liverpool, but then again the thought of Sturgeon waving a union flag is quite appealing.

I booked hotels 9-12th May and 12-14th May ages ago in 7 possible cities. Cancelled as things were announced.

Got the Marriot for £97 per night… it’s now sold out. Even the Aloft which was £72 a night is now a whopping £945 per night!

30 mins max in a taxi to home for me should we get tickets! But likely to stay out all night.

Pretty sure we would need one of the presenters who speaks French fluently, Davinia McCall does. But there could also be a Ukrainian presenter who speaks both English and French of course.

Petra Mede also comes to mind. Who doesn’t like her?! Although not British nor Ukrainian.

Ant and Dec are ITV presenters - so they wouldn’t be doing Eurovision.

Back in 1998 they had Ulrika Johnson and Terry Wogan as the presenters - Terry though was only there for the start and then popped back into his box to do the commentary.

For tickets - if they do what they did back then when I tried to get tickets for it, it’s a lottery and you get to apply for all 3 shows although in 1998 the 3 shows were 2 dress rehearsals and the televised show instead of these days with 2 semi’s and the final.

The family show is the full rehearsal you can attend. It’s in the afternoon and includes faked point scoring for the crew to rehearse different scenarios.

I’d guess they want to charge more too, unless they want it for themselves that weekend and that’s likely a away to circumvent cancellation.

I’d be surprised if the Marriott started doing this as opposed to more… independent places.

I spend way too much with Marriott annually; if they annoyed me they’d lose more than they gained.

I tend to avoid Air BnB/third party bookings/individual hotels for this reason - too many opportunistic folk around.
