Does anybody reckon Ukraine will win this year, if only for political reasons?
If they do win, that will be the reason.
Had a bit of a whiplash moment when I walked onto the room and The Rasmus were on. Guess they’ve finally come out of the shadows, then.
I was VERY confused by Norway.
I actually quite like Ukraine’s entry. Catchy.
Spain.
My personal favourite is Serbia this year. Also really enjoyed Norway and Germany.
Literally chuckled to myself over this for a minute
Moldova - what a Eurovision song
Looks promising for us
Is this a cunning plan to lumber us with an expensive white elephant while everyone has no money?
Or, given the judging panels have decided they don’t want to appear too political, is the public vote going to come in and swing it for Ukraine?
I fall asleep for 30 minutes and wake up to us currently in first place. What multiverse madness is this?!
Could explain why some of the satellite feeds are mysteriously broken:
But… could still end up we’d have to host
I don’t think many would be wanting to go to Ukraine any time soon due to the current situation.
Maybe we will offer to host on their behalf
Eurovision at The O2 would be incredible.
I imagine a decision would need to be made fairly soon. Will be interesting to see what happens
Really good result for the U.K. No surprise Ukraine won and I’m happy they did (we all stand with them!) but great that we came second! And we’ll probably host too
Would make some sense that U.K. host it in their stead. U.K. got second and received 19 points from Ukraine, higher than any other country. I’d need to find where my flare audios wound up when I moved to Scotland but I’d love to go in person in my home country. First opportunity in my life time.
The televoting was unprecedentedly political this year. The sort of thing you anticipate from the jury (to a much lesser extent) but not the public. I had them pegged for second. Can still cash in on Spain because I only have enough faith to go each way.
I think Ukraine will make every effort to host it, obviously depending how long the war drags on for, but it’s a massive show of back to business for the country if they manage.
There’s quite a few embassies that have already moved back into Kyiv.
I can’t see that really, planning needs to start pretty soon, it’s a bit absurd to expect Ukraine to put together a Eurovision song contest planning team when they are still at war.
Zelensky has said he wants to host it ‘one day’ in a rebuilt Mariupol.
