Didn’t they do that with a covid ship
Usually hotel rooms appear later. People cancel when they can’t book tickets. They have booked multiple rooms just in case. Hotels add more rooms once the delegations decide how many they need, etc.
When it was in Malmo we stayed in Copenhagen as the transport was working all night to get to another country at 2am on a Sunday. We’ll probably get a train strike that weekend and be unable to get anywhere!
I’d be happy with a Jury final ticket and back home for the final.
And Liverpool beat Glasgow again
I would expect a proper Ukrainian show, with Ukrainian presenters as if the Contest were in Ukraine. There’s no reason to have British presenters, really.
Apart from the fact it is in the UK.
The UK didn’t win, and it’s only in the UK because there’s a war in the winning country and the UK happened to be the runner up. There’s no reason it isn’t a Ukrainian production though, and you could argue a case for cultural appropriation/theft if it was presented as if the UK had won.
Considering this will cost the BBC a fortune, it should be a joint production with both Ukraine and the UK being represented.
Sure, I’m not suggesting that the UK is going to put on some faux Ukrainian homage. But those people who think it’ll be a British production “just because it’s physically in Britain” are missing the point: I would expect the ESC and the BBC to be coming from a place of expecting the whole thing to be put on by Suspilne, unless they decline to do it.
Just to let you know, Junior Eurovision is today and for the first time in years, the UK has sent a singer! And you can vote for your own country! Round 1 voting is open already.
You can vote here https://vote.junioreurovision.tv/. Round 1 closes at 3pm!
When do tickets normally become available?
Is Liverpool well connected to Manchester?
I find it hard to believe that it’ll be easy to get from the arena at 1am on a Sunday back to Manchester city Centre?
However leaving Malmo arena, Sweden at 3am on a Sunday, we had no issues getting back to Copenhagen, Denmark on a train.
You would assume they would put on extra transport for a big event like Eurovision.
Yes, almost certainly will be extra transport to all nearby towns and cities - especially as many people will not be staying in hotels in Liverpool itself.
That said, if I was going (and I hope I will get tickets!), I would stay out all night anyhow. Liverpool isn’t known for having zero nightlife!
I went all out booking 36 rooms when we were rumoured to get the contest across the 9 likely cities and 4 possible dates so secured some good priced rooms. So glad I did now! £97 a night maximum for my trip.
Fingers crossed they don’t cancel it due to an ‘error’!
It would be pretty controversial if Marriott brands started cancelling like that. If they do, they have to put me up in a nearby hotel, pay me $200 and 90,000 hotel points due to my status so frankly it wouldn’t be worth it for them!
On the interval segments between songs, I wonder if it’ll be a mix of Ukrainian and British locations, or just one or the other.
