Text message scam?

I’ve been getting there around once a week for the last month or so. Clearly fake but can see how they’d catch out someone not paying attention or expecting a message from monzo about something else. I get similar ones from Revolut too

Can’t recall the last time I had a scam text, Three do a pretty good job at blocking them from going through their network.

Yeah they have a system built to prevent these types of messages :metal:t3:

I haven’t requested a new card, so I’ve reported it to 7726. But is there anywhere on Monzo to report this?

Go to the help section in the app and search for ‘contacting support’ where there is a link to send a support message.

The help articles regarding scams direct to report to Action Fraud rather than Monzo.

It’s likely a blanket text hoping to catch someone who happens to have Monzo and believe the scam. Don’t think Monzo would be able to do too much with it. Best to report it via the dedicated fraud/scam reporting routes.

Even unsure if ActionFraud would do something unless there’s a material loss. I was victim of identity theft and they just fobbed me off. World we live in.

I think I’m right in saying that they can report that domain and have it taken down for either fraud, copyright or both.

IMO it’s always worth reporting these things - if they don’t want to do anything with it they won’t.

It appears its already on the deceptive sites list google distributes at least.
