I get that occasionally, Monzo support stated it wasn’t legit, but what’s the scam here? Confirming the number is live
Yeah seems that way, then in reply, you’ll become a target at some point down the line.

Makes me think in the same way the “Monzo aren’t on the phone to you right now” option is useful,
A similar “We last text you on DD/MM” might be helpful too

If you text back, they know: the phone number is live, someone is using it and they are a Monzo customer. Not many pieces left to complete a jigsaw on ID theft.
You’ll probably get a random email asking to verify the email address too, later, when you’ve totally forgotten about this text. So now they’ve got an email address and a phone number to use for the next wave of Monzo-spoofing.

Make sure you report it as junk at the bottom! That does get sent to all mobile operators and works towards the block algorithms.
