Summary - Feedback thread

It’s a shame Monzo are so quiet about this now - I know they’re concentrating on other things but would be good to know when they’re going to pick this up again to fix at least the main problem - custom pay day.

Still need a fix for payments in, but I’d rather see the pay day fixed first.

I’ve got my first broken month this month when I get paid on Friday instead of Saturday

It must work like a DREAM for those employed by Monzo because they’re awfully quiet on this front. However, for the majority of others it’s a bit of a shambles, in my opinion. You can’t even ‘reset’ it without having to mess around with bank transfers. Cynics amongst us will say the whole thing was a ploy to get people to switch their salaries over (even though the feature doesn’t even work with most peoples salaries) :zipper_mouth_face:

Thing is, even for people with fixed date salaries…does it still get paid the same day if it lands on a Sunday? Or does it do it the working day before/after?

If the latter, surely that means that everyone’s affected by the problem at some point?

Asking people a few questions as they set up Summary about when they get paid would sort this major issue.

Emma manage to figure out that I get paid on 17th of the month and if it falls on a weekend or bank holiday it’ll be paid on the working day before

I’m sure Monzo can work it out…

Summary tab is a massive flop for me, out of the 4 tabs on Monzo it’s the only one I never use.

I don’t think it’s an attractively designed screen, I can’t find a use for it and I think the information given is misleading. Surely you can bring this section up to scratch guys.

Each to their own (which is a problem for Monzo). As I’ve said before, the Summary tab now matches the way I’ve budgeted for the last 25 years or so. I’m monthly paid (of course) which is why it works (with a few wrinkles) I suppose.

How do you get round summary being incorrect if you’re paid the friday before payday if your payday falls on a weekend or bank holiday?

I change the timing for the month based on the early payment. It adds a day or two of drift at the end of the month which is irritating but is nothing significant with my spending pattern. When I then select the normal pay date at the end of the following month those extra days are added back into the past month so the history looks neat.

It’s only happened once so far, this month will be the second attempt.

Okay, I think i’ll try that this month and see the effect!

It keeps one payment per month which is only cosmetic in one sense but seems to be emotionally quite important!

I will experience that this week. The same day my first salary gets paid in having gone #FullMonzo.

Thanks @Feathers for your comment. Hope to experience the sam.

How about when you’re paying for others (dinner, eg) and then they pay you back?

I find this really annoying cause Summary thinks I’ve spent way more than I have. So even though the ‘left to spend’ amount is correct, the circle is useless - and I get the former information just looking at my account balance anyway!

This month is the first one where I’ve needed to change my end date, due to being paid a day early. I’ve altered my start date to today but now the month end is showing 23 Sep and it should be 24 Sep. I know this idea of flexibility was floated around when summary was in labs (and probably been mentioned deep in this thread) but it’s not appeared yet.

Is this going to be added?

They’ve not really mentioned it (or summaries), they seem to have moved on to other things now

I’ve been paid today instead of tomorrow and I think I’m just going to ride out today and ignore my balance until tomorrow when the month “starts” again. There’s no ETA on a fix so I don’t know if fixing this month will break next month even more

Sorry if this has been mentioned. When I got paid today I started the summary month manually again as I was paid early. When it asks you which income to choose it gives you two with no dates on. I get paid the same so I couldn’t work out which one was this month’s without clicking in.

Oddly enough the top one was last month’s pay and the bottom one was today’s pay, which seems strange, no?

Same thing happened to me for the first time. Paid today, changed the pay date and now thinks I will get paid 2 days earlier next month. Hopefully now the Big List is over we might see some Summary love.

Hey

I’ve now moved my salary and direct debits and gone full Monzo and I was just looking in the app to set my pay date.

When I select a payment to identify as my pay day it’s automatically sets by next pay day to be a month later, however I get paid every four weeks.

Is there a way to change the frequecy or if not will that be introduced in the future?image

Not right now. I think this is something that will happen in the future.
