Starling Feedback

My switch from Monzo to Nationwide completed yesterday. I haven’t heard anything from Monzo, and the app still appears as though my account is open.

Flagged. :rage:

Some people just want to watch the world burn . Seriously though, should report that the account is in that state to monzo as a bug

When Starling screw up - “they’re the worst and Monzo is the best at everything in the whole entire world”

When Monzo screws up - “oh it’s just a bug”

This forum amazes me sometimes

Don’t know if you’ve seen the Starling forum - but there, it’s basically the same, just the other way around.

not "everything " and not in the “whole entire world” but very, very close    and there are a lot of bugs on both platforms

I’m sorry, can you link me to where I said Starling not making it clear an account is closed is the worst thing in the world? I’m a bit confused because it’s not the sort of thing I’d typically say

That’s a good question. It sounds like Starling do it all themselves, so what do Monzo do?

Same with Monzo, who even have their own card processor, but seem to have made the decision not to make their payment systems available to third parties.

I think you can have different levels of access to the FPS scheme.
Monzo probably haven’t taken it all the way yet.

How can Starling process payments for others when they still use GPS as their payment processor?

I think it would be a good revenue stream for monzo since they have their own in house processor now. But whether or not that fits into any of their plans only they know… I’m sure they’ve thought about it at least and have reasons for not doing it yet if at all.

It feels like a really weird move for MasterCard to choose them. They have a much smaller estimated user base and haven’t shown a massive drive to do stuff

I’m not sure consumer banking user base matters for this sort of deal which is essentially providing the ‘plumbing’ behind the scenes for MasterCard’s new service.

I imagine it was a mixture of shortest time to market and price.

They already have a contract with the DWP. And they are the only UK Faster Payments agency services with instant processing to other organisations (non-account holders). Monzo hasn’t decided to go that route, so they were not an option.

They are DCSP rather than DCNSP status so probably do appeal to others who don’t want to take on settlement obligations themselves.

I know, but customer numbers give reassurance, among other things

Reassurance of what?

That they aren’t some organisation run from someone’s bedroom with a good marketing team

Maybe MasterCard are using them as a test.

What would be the point in that
