Simple Questions Thread (Newbie Friendly 🙂)

No. There is no password or PIN. Many people like it that way. Now why would you want a password or PIN on a banking app?

You can set Touch ID on iOS. But your phone should be secured anyway.

so you didn’t disadvantage your friends family and any stranger that you might want to lend your phone to so they can see you bank balance ??? passwords, secure phone,… pah >>>> I have a right to give my phone to anybody   and its the banks responsibility to keep my phone secure

You will see Ian if you bother to read my post. I was asking THEM why they wanted it (hence the word You not Me). I was not expressin my opinion, I was encouraging further clarification from a (new?) user.

I read your post  and the previous times you’ve posted about phones not being secure enough should the owners want to pass it around to whoever they want to with impunity of others seeing their bank balance which the owner of the phone considers to be private information

Ha ha, get you know  initially thought you were referencing my previously expressed thought

So i use Microsoft Azure for some projects and it gets billed to my Monzo account, but for some reason microsoft in their wisdom include the invoice number in the merchant name of every transaction each month so they dont get grouped when you tap on the transaction. I have submitted the name and logo each time and that gets updated nicely to ‘Microsoft Azure’ and the logo to their twitter logo which is nice but annoying each month.
I used the in app chat to mention it to them and they managed to group the few i had together somehow in the background, but it doesnt fix it permanently. Is this something that could be done?

I believe Microsoft Office 365 has the same issue each month too.

Other than recommending to use AWS could this be fixed or the ability to group transactions within the app would be great.
Its usefull to be able to see the average spend for a merchant

Cheers

Is this a CPA?

@daniel.cannon might be the best knowledge person for that query.

Can you disclose a little bit of information about the upcoming web interface? I would like to know what features we can expect or something we definitely won’t get. Even if it’s high-level information. Most of my transactions, for example, are incorrectly marked in terms of location but I keep all my transaction in my own system. I just don’t like doing stuff like that on the phone (if it wasn’t for the music and Monzo I probably wouldn’t need a phone), so just wondering if we’ll be able to do it in web interface.

Another question on the “big list” you mention simple interface, does it imply it will be basic and will stay basic or will you have a dedicated team to build some more features with time?

My understanding of the web interface is that it will be very basic… Something like…

Here’s your total, your last X transactions, click here to freeze your card, here’s our phone number, you can email us here.

Not sure what a CPA is?

Continuous Payment Authority?

Ah ok, then I guess it is the same as Netflix?

The merchant info looks like “MSFT * MSFT AZURE IRL”

Where the number in the brackets changes each month and office 365 looks like “MSFT * MSBILL.INFO IRL”
So if you could match the last part of the merchant to group on that would work?

Cheers

I have been asking that they fix this for years but I gave up as it has never been done, I don’t get why it’s so difficult tbh.

Quite possibly, @anon46131078 would you be able to contact in-app support and ask for me. That way I can have a look at the transaction and figure out what is happening.

I’d take a guess it was Apple rather than :monzopride:. I hear they’re very picky when it comes to approving banks for Apple Pay support.

I was unable to send a chat message last night and eventually gave up thinking it may be a blip, tried again this morning and still no joy. Tried to look to see if this is a broader issue and didn’t find anything obvious - any guidance appreciated - Thx

Yes - I think theres more to it than that though…hence the secrecy, even now.
