Agreed, they just become branded watch straps. But then they could easily add a QR code so when you buy the strap you get the face for free
I can definitely see the appeal in the “experience” of owning one of the Hermes watches.
If it wasn’t for the fact the actual watch is identical as the others, I’d probably pay the extra for it!
But I’m really not sure the leather straps are worth it.
However… I can see why people would happily buy one, but it’s too pricey for me.
Hi everyone. I currently have a Huawei Fitness Band Pro 2. It has all the usual things fitness bands provide, GPS, sleep tracking, steps, notifications etc etc. I’m looking to venture into the smartwatch market now and really have no idea where to start.
I know roughly what I want from the watch but could do with some advice. I would use it both as a smartwatch and as a fitness tracker. So in built GPS is essential as well as heat rate monitoring. Sleep tracking too is useful. Basically the same functionality as my fitness band.
But it is the smartwatch side of things where I need some help. I want to be able to use Google pay on the watch so NFC needed. I want to receive notifications with a good UI. I like the image above with the Monzo notification on the Galaxy watch. Is that pretty much how most smartwatch notifications would look?
What else should I look for? And any particular recommendations? I had looked at the Huawei watch 2. I like Huawei products but the reviews didn’t look great.
Thanks everyone in advance.
Different take on a smart watch. This is a minimal smart watch with analog hands.
Series 4 Apple Watch
What’s the best Android smartwatch out there? Can’t say I’m very clued up when it comes to the ol’ smartwatches.
Recently grabbed a Galaxy Watch, very happy with it. It doesn’t run Wear OS, rather samsung’s Tizen.
My Ticwatch Pro with and without the ‘case’. There’s a very good chance I’d scratch it at work without one and if I did that I’d probably cry.
Watches with NFC and Google Pay in particular are few and far between so if that is a necessity then you won’t have a lot to choose from. I’d recommend a Ticwatch Pro but as it’s the only smartwatch I’ve ever owned I don’t know whether it’s good, bad or somewhere in between.
I’ve just got rid of my fossil watch as battery life was sub par and waiting for delivery of Huawei watch 2 classic.
My Apple Watch Series 4 arrived on Thursday
After faffing around trying to find a comfortable fit, I think I’ve mostly got it…
Is that the 40 or 44?
What’s the fit of the rubber strap like?
It’s the 44, and I checked the box twice because I thought it looked a bit small on my wrist…
Quite good, actually. It’s a faff getting it on, but it doesn’t move around of its own accord, and it’s easy to remove.
I’ve still got one but the glass back started to crack over time and I’m so gentle with my devices, so putting it down to the stressed joints.
It’s just collecting dust in wardrobe now with no idea what to do with it.
