Introducing Double Payday

This is something special we’ve been working on. From 8 December 2025, we’re launching Double Payday, a UK banking first that makes payday, well… twice as nice.

Earlier this year we launched Billsback™️– where we pay back over 1,000 bills every month for Extra, Perks and Max customers. You can read more about Billsback here.

Now, we’re bringing more rewards to ALL of our customers.

How does it work?

• Every month we’ll pick 10 lucky Monzo customers who get their salary paid into their Monzo account by Bacs at random, and double their salary payment.

• So, if your take-home payment is £500, you’ll get another £500 straight into your account, tax-free.

• This isn’t a one-off. Double Payday is here to stay, with 10 winners every single month.

How do you get in?

• Just have your weekly or monthly salary paid directly into your Monzo account (joint accounts included).

• Weekly and monthly payments between £300 and £20,000 all count.

• Your salary needs to arrive by Bacs (Bankers’ Automated Clearing Services – that’s the way most employers pay people in the UK).

• There’s a £10,000 cap on each winning payment: if you’re a winner and your take-home pay is above £10,000, we’ll top you up with an extra £10,000.

    Your salary will be eligible as long as the payment is between £300 and £20,000. However , we’ll only pay a maximum of £10,000 per month per winning customer. This means if you have a winning salary payment of £11,000 in January, we’ll pay you £10,000 in February.

So State Pension is excluded? That probably is the only ‘pay’ that many pensioners receive.

I assume private pensions paid by BACS are included?

a question about the weekly pay as it isn’t clear enough, say I get pay £500 a week which comes up to £2000 a month and I win, will it be just £500 or £2000?? thanks for the reply

Reads as you’d only get the £500, as it’s one bacs entry per month, and if that entry is £500, that’s your lot.

Still £500 you never had if you did win.

Is there a way of checking if I’m paid by BACS or faster payments? Can’t tell from the transaction in the monzo app?

If you see your salary as a pending/incoming payment in the transaction list 2-3 days before your payday, it’s BACS. If you only see it the minute it hits your account and it’s immediately available, it’s FP.

My salary is paid by FP also as I work for a small company so the FD manually makes the payments on the day. Shame this sort of arrangement won’t be eligible.

if you can see your upcoming wages in the monzo app a couple days before it’s due then you’re being paid via BACS payments

I currently pay myself from my Monzo business account via FP. Is there any way to pay my salary via BACS to be eligible for this? I doubt it but worth asking
