Say Hello!

Ireland, Monzo. Monzo, Ireland.

If you’re here this early, you probably didn’t need that introduction. Regardless, we’re very excited to have you here on our community forum! This is where you can help us shape the bank your money deserves, take a look behind the scenes at Monzo, as well as gaining exclusive early access to features and in-person events. We’re growing our Irish office here in Dublin, and as we grow, we want you to come on the journey with us, so welcome to the inner circle.

Please, introduce yourselves below;

  • Tell us who you are

  • Where you’re based

  • What you do for a living

  • A fun fact about yourself

I’ll go first! My name is Cian, I’m based in Dublin for the last 10 years but I’m originally from Wicklow (Wick City). I lead Content and Community here at Monzo Ireland (I joined 3 months ago) with a background in social media, content, and communications. As we grow here in Ireland, I’ll be your main point of contact within Monzo.

Outside of work, I do bits on the radio and tv, have a podcast (two actually), and I play Gaelic football. A fun fact about me is I’m a fluent Gaeilge speaker (I did my communications masters through Irish).

Hi Cian and Monzo Dublin, welcome :tada:

I’m David, from County Kildare for the last 10 years but originally Portsmouth, England.

You guys are down in Central Plaza right? Nice office building - and convenient for Temple Bar :clinking_beer_mugs: :slightly_smiling_face:

I work in Dublin too for one of the US tech companies and look after a number of data centres both here and around the world.

Fun facts: I was one of the very early Mondo users back in the day - and I don’t like Guinness (sorry)

We could definitely do with some more banks here so interested to see how this goes -

I’m on the waitlist and look forward to taking Monzo Ireland for a spin :credit_card:

Welcome! Number 1 user (after me) here, but even more impressive, an early Mondo user. I gave Guinness a chance again this year and I finally get the hype!

Prefer a Murphys myself but I won’t say no to Guiness or Beamish either haha. @Cian will need to highlight the best spots when I come to see the office.

Buzzing for the Ireland launch :ireland:

Hey :waving_hand:

Names Carl, proud cat owner (check out the pet pictures thread!)

Based Wirral, UK - directly East from Dublin.

Previously retail banking (Lloyds, Monzo, Barclays), now Civil Service last few years.

Heavily invested in the retail banking industry, mostly the tech side, over 100 debit cards and counting (please bring a Monzo metal back :folded_hands:t3:).

Be good to keep up with the EU launch!

100 debit cards?! I almost asked for a picture, but then I realised the problems associated with that!

You’ll find many collectors in here :joy:

Also proud owner of a Monzo plushie!

Hey :waving_hand: I’m Craig; currently based in London.

I’m one of the engineers who’s been working on bringing Monzo to Ireland. Very excited to have the chance to chat to our first potential users in this community! Outside of work, I’m a squash player, runner and video game player—in increasing order of hours ~wasted~ invested

The whole Monzo Ireland team will be paying close attention to this forum and contributing ourselves when we can, so please don’t hesitate with any early feedback :eyes:

Hi All, I’m Pyro.

I’m originally from Jersey and having lived there for most of my life, I have recently moved onto the mainland. So far I am loving it here just so many people then I am used to

I work in Financial Planning for Corporate Clients. I started to work at my current firm in Jersey but was offered a position at the big city office. Hence here I am.

I enjoy keeping up with all of the latest banking deals and offers. I have recently been on a bit of an account opening streak. Back in Jersey the banking market is mostly Lloyds and Santander and that’s it. So been opening lots of new accounts and getting lots of new cards.

Also recently opened Monzo as Double Payday is just to good to pass up!

I forget about it until I start scrolling :joy:

Currently playing a lot of both Battlefield 6 and Silksong while working through a backlog of puzzle games I never managed to play when they came out. (Chants of Sennaar and Blue Prince have both been pretty good IMO!)

Secret’s out I see :slightly_smiling_face:

At least I got on the waitlist early :joy:

Silksong is good but I no longer have gamepass, and then Battlefield 6 I’ve only played REDSEC multi and that’s frustrating enough

Hey Hey Irish Monzonauts and future Irish customers :ireland: !

The name’s Burny. Not quite Mondo Alpha, but I am a Mondo Beta customer (customer number less than #30,000), and looking forward to my 10 year Monzo-versary in July 2026.
Happy to talk about random nonsense, mostly gadgets, gaming or spreadsheets… (Yes, I am a serial Excel-er).

I do love a Guiness, it’s my alcoholic beverage of choice despite not being Irish… but… and I might upset a few people… I prefer it with a dash of Vimto in it… runs

Glad to see Monzo finally expanding beyond the UK and US, and already encouraged an Irish mate to join the waitlist (do I get a prize? I do want a plushy… wink wink).

I’m not your man for spreadsheets, I’m afraid…but Guinness is a classic.

Hey Cian, are you single, asking for a friend :see_no_evil_monkey::zany_face:
